How on earth have you managed that???? I had those tyres stashed away in a box for at least a year and got no wear on them at all!!! :P

They've been great, Jon. I've been running them hard in the big-Monthly Postal Challenge - on freshly Paved Tarmac - which although GRIPPY, is like Racing on 100 Grit Sandpaper. 😉

They performed WELL, but they're properly stuffed now.

@Juhunio Modelsport has the BMW 2002 body in stock as  noted by @Carmine A and the corresponding matte chrome wheels are shown as 'out of stock - on order' so we can but hope...the tyres are in stock. Perhaps I should get some in....

Rear wheels - https://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=28881

Rear tyres. - https://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=22610

At such time as I get the Escort, I will be trying  the body out with those wheels....

Those HPI MX60 wheels are long-discontinued by HPI and I doubt we will see them again. There's a few on eBay for £££, they're simply not worth what some sellers are trying to get - £30 a pair from one seller!

You're also then limited by tyre choice which are increasingly rare too - 2 different grip compounds and a drift compound. No Rally blocks in this size.

when i brought mine from my lhs a few years back i think i payed between £15 and "20 for a pair back then plus the £15 ish for the tyres a pair also to match so £30 aint so bad tbh

and you do really have to by the hpi tyres to match them aswell as they are a funny size and if i remember also i had to special order the tyres from hpi if you go back a few pages you will see the photo i put up with them on my mk2 escort

I've been in the Hospital for 8 days with temperatures in the 103-106 range, trouble breathing, eating and a burning throat... Waiting for the slow test results - but it COULD be COVID. 💔😭

But it could also be acute Tonsillitis.... We're hoping for that.  Wouldn't it SUCK!!?? My SHIP is FINALLY coming in - and I could be buried under the Dock.

Well, the timing is OK. I've worn the Tires on my M05 CRX SMOOTH and can't afford new ones.....

Now you tell me,

you have my PM and email address, keep me posted and i'll chat with you soon.

Get well right now, and know you are my friend.

i have some JConceptz and the wheel and tire beads are for their products only. (not all their stuff) but I purchased some tires , thinking they'd fit another brand rim and then had to order their wheels.

These are Tamiya M chassis wheels on the MF-01x chassis.  Honestly, even with the 16T brushed modified motor I'm using, the car is a bit bland.  The chassis feels a tad bit "clumsy" at decent speeds.  Great for a VW beetle, as one would expect about as much from the real thing, but for a MK2 Escort.. well I would probably look elsewhere for a better chassis if I was going for performance to match the looks and scale of the real thing.

The Esky announcement has really thrown all my plans awry.  I think I'm going to get a couple of bodies for my M06 and skip buying the MF01X kit.  I've got leftover Castrol stickers from a Civic, and some gold Minilites, so a bit of paint and I might do something similar to this:

gNDt2ux.jpg

I'm stuck deciding on dampers though.  The M-Chassis Aluminium set would be good but I'm not sure about subjecting them to a bit of light gravel and dust.  The TT02 Super Mini CVA set are surprisingly good value and should work.

Now I have an MX5 body without a chassis after only buying it a few days ago.  Do I need a second M06?  Probably.

M chassis wheels are 1.6 inches in diameter, which makes them a scale size of 16 inches. This is way bigger than what was on the real car so let's face it - it's never going to look exactly right.

Just take a look at the scale model photo posted above (castrol one) - those wheels look tiny in comparison to rc wheels. To get that look, you'd need the body to be big enough to fit on a full-size touring chassis and use m-chassis size wheels, but with even bigger tyre sidewalls than 60d. Something like the original escort cosworth tiger stripe version, which came with small wheels and high-sidewall tyres.

So tamiya used to try to make wheels scale sized (for cars where the 'standard' size wasn't right), but they soon gave up.

No pre-drilled body posts is good news.

I hope some of the smaller manufacturers start producing some new m-chassis wheel designs.

Thank you so much! Timing couldn't be worse. Besides the Holiday Season.... I REALLY want one of those Bodies. I'm going to miss out, one way or another... I'm pretty excited about this.

It underscores my FEAR in the Hospital. That, and the LONELINESS of not being allowed any visitors, and my last line of sanity, cute Nurses, are practically in HAZMAT Suits with big Rubber Boots! 😖😭😭😭

LOL, well I wanted to do everything I can to get at least one bodyset from the 1st batch rather than missing out then waiting months for the 2nd batch. This first batch will be snapped up within days of release IMO.

Paid £105 for the three from Time Tunnel.

Due late March?  That's disappointing.  I was hoping for January.  I wonder if the kit is coming out first?

The kit is due late January but the bodies are coming in late March/early April.
