It will fit most of the other M chassis’s so you can do rwd if you want. great thanks but i also aint a fan of the m chassis either i sold my mini to a member on her a couple of years back and dont regret it

Blista 1519 Posted February 25, 2021 I keep waiting to see some stock pop up locally for the body set. Seems like it's slowly making it's way around the globe. RCMart finally got some but they want about NZ$100 delivered, same with AsiaTees, and RCJaz are only slightly cheaper. Usually bodies go for about $75 and often a bit less for M-chassis ones. Is this just an expensive body set or have body set prices gone up in general?

I’ve dropped the body down and it looks good. Probably need to st the front up one hole to run it anywhere rough. So sorry no sale. Also have black, and gold . Have another body on order to do a road car in red with gold wheels shod with Shimizu tyres. I’ve got 3 m chassis’s and the Kei truck uses them as well so they get switched around for fun. Here’s a picture of the finished car. definately been worth waiting for. IMHO it’s one the best they’ve produced in ages This looks really good. Have you had a razz around the garden yet with it? Busdriver 6209 Posted February 25, 2021 Just run it on the drive and onto the road. Handles well with stiff front and open rear diff. Does really smooth figures of 8 with nice tail drift. Definitely needs better shocks (actually it needs shocks full stop) as the back end is quite bouncy. I am waiting for some super mini cva’s but may cancel the order and look for an alternative?

Yoshimitsu 3475 Posted February 26, 2021 I see screen print digital are doing the Eaton Yale livery too. I wonder which blue would work with that?

I bottled out and did the BA scheme 🤓 Love the gold wheels. I have a set to use with a spare body when it arrives. Going to do a fast road car in red with the gold wheels and Shimizu tyres Edited February 26, 2021 by Busdriver
Juhunio 6830 Posted February 26, 2021 @Busdriver and @Yoshimitsu where are you chaps finding the gold wheels? I'm struggling to find anything other than kit blue Cheers for any help

Busdriver 6209 Posted February 26, 2021 That’s one way mine came with an M06 I bought from @Grumpy pants a while back. I think they are a bit like hens teeth so the paint route may be the best way to achieve it
Wandy 1527 Posted February 26, 2021 Looks like the bodysets are going to be difficult to get a hold of for a while yet. Got only one of the three that I ordered from Time Tunnel today and have to wait until the end of May for the other two. Apparently the UK's allocation was severely short of what was expected. I guess Tamiya are spreading the stock around and maybe underestimated the demand for these bodies.
Wandy 1527 Posted February 26, 2021 There's one on ebay at the moment. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tamiya-51658-Ford-Escort-MK-II-Rally-Body-MF01X-239mm-W-base/124596974568?hash=item1d028ef3e8:g:lzkAAOSwnW1gOMej Be quick if you want one as I think these will be difficult to source for a while. I love how decal makers are falling over themselves to make liveries for this kit. They can't get them out quickly enough. Apparently the kit is in such high demand that when the 2nd batch arrives into the UK it will only cover 10% of all the outstanding orders made by the various UK stores. Tamiya seriously underestimated the demand for this one.
Busdriver 6209 Posted February 26, 2021 I am trying to get super mini cva’s for my escort but to no avail. Any suggestions for alternatives. I have a set off mini cva’s but I think they are too long?

I was under the impression that super minis are 50mm whereas minis are 55mm Either way, I believe 55mm are fine for m chassis, particularly something designed for rally. The 50mm ones help reduce ride height, if you want, or you can add spacers to 55mm I think!
