Tamiya model magazine and Tamiya blog listed as February release, so I am guessing 1st of Feb, which is the same as LEGO, unless you are VIP member, but Tamiya doesn't seem to do that.

Got an email from Time Tunnel today to say that my kit should be delivered next week. They say they have had a huge amount of orders and "far more than any other Tamiya kit, ever". Apparently the first batch of UK kits is completely sold out at the importers.

Same here, they also say that they have enough to cover the pre-orders. Fingers crossed.

I emailed Fusion about my order 10 days ago but haven’t received a reply. Might have to give them a call. February seems to be coming round quicker than expected!

Hmm, seems I can order the body from Ebay, and there are a couple of UK and other sites I can pre-order, but very expensive!

I had thought the body parts set was due a couple of months after the kit release but seeing it's already potentially available is a welcome surprise.  I see the body manual says to paint the wheels blue so I guess dyed blue wheels are a kit only item.

I expect there's a couple of Tamiya executives scratching their heads over the popularity of the Escort.

I reckon we're due another Prodrive-blue WRX,  and a yellow/ gold vibrating Hornet / Grasshopper.... they've done just about every other colour!

ok, Metro Hobbies, https://www.metrohobbies.com.au/products/tamiya-58687-escort-mk-ii-rally-painted-body-mf-01x has it as coming soon, but no price. And if I read the page correctly, there are 17 people with it in their wish list. So it'll be awhile before I'll be getting one I think. 

I was however able to order the body set from eBay.

I'm glad I'm getting a body set not a kit! 

The pre painted body has got the windows smoked, don't have a problem with that! It's the over spray 😲

The finished body with the smoked windows will be fine for a runner and the bodysets can be used for finely detailed shelf queens. Is there any way that the smoke can removed though?

Polycarbonate cleaner from tamiya works well, but it would struggle on the over spray on the white.
