There was a thread linked to this recently this recently when someone bought the four pack 54753 - which are listed as for touring cars. The following  text is from the Models port listing -

This shock set includes parts from Item 50746 CVA Super Mini Shock Set and Item 53440 On-Road Tuned Hard Spring Set. It allows a total overhaul of the TT-02 suspension in one clean and economical swoop. This set is ideal for beginners or first-time upgraders!

Contains parts to make 4 CVA Super Mini oil shock dampers.

Includes Yellow (medium) springs, for improved stability and to help the car hold uneven surfaces.

Aren't super mini cva's for M-chassis and mini for touring cars!?

It used to be the case that minis were for touring cars but at some point the super minis became the touring car size (maybe with the introduction of the tt01?) in addition to m chassis size (although very early m chassis uses the mini size I think)

So I might just make up the mini cva’s that I’ve got and see how I get on?

I’ll let you know what happens

According to Tamiya's own RC Parts Matching List (HERE), the MF-01X takes CVA Super Minis - part number 50746. The old 54000 M-Chassis Aluminium Damper Set is also an option, as well as TRF Shorts (42273) if you really must spend megabucks.

54753 should work out cheaper, you get all four cva's

(I see they have already been mentioned)

Weirdly, Tamiya don't list that as an option for the MF-01X on the Parts Matching List....

That is true but at the moment they are not available anywhere. I have had them on order from Fusion for a while and the just keep getting pushed back. It’s now May at the earliest!

yes they are, there are quite a few on ebay but unfortunately not listed with the actual product number, ie tt-02 cva etc etc rather than 54753

A good example is (search on ebay) (cant find the item number, so...)

tamiya hop up options no. 1753 op.1753

that should be enough to bring up the cva shock pack which is the cheapest on ebay atm £29.53

My first go at RC car building. The body took as long as the chassis. All very enjoyable. Just need stock to come in now for my next one.

Can’t believe how popular this car is. This is page 16 just about 1 model and as more schemes and models get done it’ll just keep going. I hope Mr T is watching. There are many other cars of this style that would generate similar interest I believe!

Man, that looks incredible!

The more I see of it, the more the Mk2 Escort will be my next build, but I'd also want a different livery. While I appreciate Tamiya have quite faithfully recreated the Hannu Mikkola livery, I do think it's a bit dull. I'd rather finish it to look more like the MST Escort...

I have the gold wheels with low profile tyres just awaiting the clear body when they’re back in stock 🤞🏻

I've seen a video on youtube where RC Kicks fitted the Tamiya Ford Escort Bodyshell to a Tamiya M-08 chassis. I wondered if anyone else is trying this set up and if so, does the M-08 chassis allow for different ride height settings on the suspension?
