2020 has been a difficult/stressful/sad year  and more adjectives that I can think of but throughout it all I have seen an amazing amout of positivity on this forum. The only way to deal with now is look to the future. Whilst the Covid 19 situation is difficult to predict our love of Tamiya and other manufactures  gives us an something to focus on other than the dreaded virus. For me 2021 means an Escort Rally car, Yay!!!!!! Typical just shortened my MF01X to medim wheel base to fit a Jimny body. Hey ho will have to think about another MF01X Escort to fill the gap. Anyhow albeit  only the middle of November, lots of xmas lights are on so may I be the first to wish all members a Merry Christmas and a differnt New Year

Thanks and a Merry Xmas to you too :D

Xmas this year will be an unusual one in relation to the RC hobby, my daughters have asked for cheap'ish 2WD buggies (DT02/DT03) and if Father Xmas delivers them they'll be the first operational 2WD buggies to run in our household for 18 years and, as neither of them has ever driven a 2WD car, 2021 will be a new learning experience (their entire RC experience since small children of 6 years old has been on Thundershot and Avante class buggies)

Also I'm hoping to buy a Schumacher at some point over the Xmas period as a present to myself and that will be my first non Tamiya RC kit in over 30 years! (The last one being a new, at the time, RC10!!!)

Whilst Tamiyaclub & RC in general is a pleasant destraction from *****19 , it is also a vital tool alongside Family in keeping us mentally strong , focused  , and not staring into the abyss . Stay strong guys & gals , good times ahead !!

Thanks but no, got to be careful with my words here as the mudlets read this forum, but IF Father Xmas was to bring them their choices they would be brand new unbuilt. They actually enjoy the building and would want them painted in their own race colours. Thanks for the offer though :)

Fully understand. Don’t all Tamiya kits come from Father Christmas!!!

What are you looking for it?

I don't need one, or have room for one, but If it's cheap enough...🙄😁

Certainly has been a, different kind of year! But felt super super quick!!

My 5yr old daughter has asked to go racing with daddy 😍, so I might have an excuse to get myself a new Laydown, and donate my old one to her...😏

A tad early ,but feels kind of right this year, so , Merry Christmas everyone 🎄

I'm hopeful for a full packed year from tamiya (and other manufacturers) in 2021 to make up for the uncertainty of 2020 and I'm thinking this downturn in the economy will end pretty **** quickly and employment WILL get back to pre covid19 (I'm sure it will) the tamiya ford escort looks a very interesting rc I bet there's loads of scope with different liveries? After all it was the most successful rally car ever to be produced and the most used and in a lot of cases still used on rally day events (although it is slowly been superseded by the Peugeot 205)

Actually I’ve decided to keep it now. Frankly it’s not worth selling🧐

Hey @Busdriver my youngest has asked for the Aquroshot, it seems OK but not really my thing. It will be interesting to see how she gets on with it as it is actually a big step down for her from her thundershot and vanquish buggies. However knowing youngest mudlet I would not be surprised to see it climbing its way up the postal racing results table early in new year, she has a tendancy to get the maximum performance from the most minimum spec of cars........  she has even nearly beaten me using a silver can before now...... :o

Funny I had just decided against selling it for no good reason. I haven’t driven it other than to test it. So I suppose I might as well let it go especially if it encourages a youngster to get int the hobby. I could go to £65 + £5 postage but below that I might as well keep it!!

Youngest Mudlet seems to have an eye for the unusual, and I applaud her for it. First wanting a wing on her Thundershot, now choosing what many perceive as the ugly duckling of the DT-03 family... Not one to follow the herd, is she?

(My Thundershot also wears a wing, and my DT-03 of choice is also the Aqroshot. :D )

Also, while certainly a big step down in terms of complexity, I wouldn't say that the DT-03s are a big step down in terms of performance. All else being equal, they are quicker in a straight line than the 4WD buggies thanks to their lighter weight and simpler drivetrains. In stock form the suspension is no less adjustable than that of a Thundershot, and with the addition of a turnbuckle set they provide the same level of suspension adjustability as a Terra Scorcher. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by how much they have to offer. (Or unpleasantly surprised if you are going up against them! 🤔)

Thanks @TurnipJF, yes youngest mudlet has very different preferences compared to her older sisters and myself. That is true of almost everything to be honest, whether it be RC, Lego, warhammer or model trains etc she always goes with the odd/less popular options. Interesting to note that she is also a very good wargamer too, having beaten me 9 times in the last 10 games we've had.

I guess I can resign myself to being beaten by her in the postal racing soon too......

Probably going to get myself a Schumacher Mission FT for my b-day, which happens to be around Christmas. I've been wanting to get a 1:1 project car for some time now, so that might happen for 2021, which surely can't be worse than 2020, right? *knocks on wood*
