I have just inserted some insane power in the back end of an M06 courtesy of @Grumpy pants. Not sure how it will handle but thought a gyro might help. Can you buy stand alone gyros? I have AVC on my Losi Raptor. Not sure how it works but turn it off and you realise what it does?? Any info on gyros or AVC type systems would appreciated?

As I’m a novice with far too many M04s, I picked up a few of these

but I’ve not got as far as trying them out!

Them I bought a multi model 6 channel rx / tx for crawling which has the gyro in the rx too

There are vids on you tube showing people try out this system and demonstrating the gyro

Not sure that helps!

I tried a max 10 and a 4000kv motor in mine and it was so tail happy you had to really slowly apply the power but if you tipped it too much it would just spin out.

I did think about putting a giro in but I have never tried one and didn't know where to start.

Let me know how you get on if you do.

At the moment I have tblm with a t tuned motor in and it handles fine.

RWD drift cars use gyros to make it driveable, so i dont see why a gyro wouldnt help on at RWD street car. you can also increase or decrease the gyro level to match how much help you want or need from it.

I think the reason behind his thinking and mine when I was thinking about it was, if it steps out on you when setting off or applying power, it would correct you and put you back in line.

In the end I just added a stabilizing kit on my M06 and adjusted the camber as well as setting a limit to how much power I put in it. Although I might drop in  a 10BL60 and 13.5t motor in mine soon but also gear it down a few teeth to 18t pinion.

You can buy standalone ones and you can get receivers with them built in too.

They can make a huge difference and make stuff that's otherwise nigh on impossible to drive usable.

They can also be useful for when you use an otherwise manageable vehicle on terrains that make it a handful ie: When I use my brushless Lunchbox on very loose dirty or sand the back end is all over the place but using a gyro reigns it in just enough that you can control it and do huge power slides etc without it spinning out all the time.

I also put one in my blackfoot back in the summer when they were doing construction work all along the cycle/footpath that runs down my valley. The whole path was pretty much covered in a film of dust and it was absolutely fantastic fun for 4wd stuff but 2wd would just spin out every single time. Popped a gyro in and boom, instant improvement and you could have fun sliding all over the place but still be able to reign it back in without spinning out.

Obviously you wouldn't want to use one on a vehicle that's already fine to drive but for stuff that's very unruly they can be very helpful and also for making less frustrating on very loose surfaces.

I've used a cheap GYC300 type and also flysky receivers with them built in.

Look up the Tamiya TGU-01! It is a re-branded Futaba GYC440. I have a Futaba GYD450. I don't drift, but it works well to tame a hard to drive car. Think F102 with foam tires on dusty asphalt. It was literally impossible to drive before. IMPOSSIBLE. A gyro was a lot easier to find and install than soft rubber tires. I don't know what the difference is between car-specific gyros, generic gyros, and aircraft gyros, so I just stuck with a car-specific gyro.
