A Photo of Your Most Recent Tamiya RC/Build

Recommended Posts

What a cool thread ! Great to see what everyone’s been up to. Sorry to those that have seen this in the big rigs thread already but my Scania is my latest Tamiya AND my latest RC build all in one. It’s not yet finished as I’ve found it’s very addictive to keep adding ‘bits’ to it. There are quite a few full size Scanias on the road here in NZ.

I’d admired the Tamiya rigs for some time and finally took the plunge this year. It’s my only rig (so far) amongst a range of buggies, on road cars, planes and helis and for me has brought a whole new level of RC enjoyment. I just LOVE how scale these things are and how realistic they look when moving. It’s also nice to have something that can be driven inside if the weather is a bit pants or outside in large or small spaces so is pretty universal. So you can always get your RC fix!

The build is I’d say the most satisfying I’ve ever done and for me, this truck is worth every cent I paid for it. It’s a keeper for sure and I dare say at some point it’ll get some stablemates to keep it company :).

This truck has just had a Verkerk m100 facelift kit added to make into a later model and has an upgraded (TR tuned) motor, alloy front wheels, aerials and scale side mirrors added along with a sound system and the start of a lighting system...whew! Alloy wheels for the rear are currently under the Christmas tree :)....

keep the pics coming! Really enjoying looking at what people are building.

Merry Christmas all!FC94D9AD-1D53-4478-883D-5B3CB69E03BD.thumb.jpeg.cdd8d5f3e222fa1bcbbc3d098d0f5585.jpeg

I've always looked at the rigs/trucks as too much effort and cost for mine, but having seen a few more recently on the forums here, and now yours with the big silver trailer, that 80s kid in me keeps thinking that a Globe Liner turned certain Autobot :D would full-fill at least part of a once strong what if toy fantasy.

There is a big rigs thread!? I think I forgot about it. Maybe for the best because I don't want to get in $£ trouble.

That's an awesome build and your thoughts on what the experience is like to build these things sounds quite encouraging. One day I'll get into it.

Lovely thread, some stunning and inspiring builds here!

My latest was a 49400 30th Anniversary 934 in Gulf livery.

There is so much blue aluminium in the kit, built up around the CF chassis plates, it felt more structural than anything else I've built. I took A LOT of photos along the way :) It's absolutely gawwww-jus

My most recent Tamiya build was completed about a week ago. This is my DT-02 Nissan Titan Racing Truck done in box art.

Not particularly recent but I have just rebuilt it so hopefully that counts! Still got to do the interior and get a decent driver figure but it is getting there.

Great thread this. Hope it keeps going.

My latest build is an m07r. I raced m05's about 7 or 8 years ago and haven't had one since. Picked it up from Tamico and set to work. A friend has just bought an Alfa Giulia M06 so were planning on some nice car park battles over Christmas. Here it is.

I’m 2/3rds of the way through my Avante but my most recent completed build is my Sand Scorcher.

Sorry to hijack the thread but could I ask where you picked up the JPS decals?

I need a set for to go on a Lotus 79.

I love the little scale workshop!  Really nice touch.  Plus the 2CV is great.

Decals are from MCI Racing. It's a good decal sheet, very adaptable, will probably suit your Lotus just fine

I really like the profile! Can't tell what the body is. Is it a Losi shell?

I really like the Hilux Monster Racer. Been on my list but unfortunately it's just not something easy to get in decent condition. Those tires, especially the Dynamite Racing one looks sweet.

I believe this is a Dahms shell from late '80s? Not sure, it came with the car I got to restore and was wrapped in shiny foil from the inside  at least I had no paint to strip off lol
