Core-RC Batteries in the U.S.

Recommended Posts

Hello Chaps,

Does anybody know where can I buy Core-RC batteries on this side of the pond?  Due to Airmail restrictions, LiPo batteries cannot be shipped from the U.K. (or elsewhere in Europe) to the U.S.  Also, they are sold out on eBay.

Specifically, I am seeking Core RC 30C/60C 4000mAh 7.4V LiPo (CR293) or Core RC 20C/40C 4000mAh 7.4V LiPo.  They are both 23.3 x 46 x 133.7mm and they nicely fit many Tamiya models, hence the question.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you may be able to provide...  Happy New Year!  :)

They are okay but issues with current pulsating and activating esc battery cutoff.

Well that sucks. I was hoping this was going to be an easy upgrade. Everyone in the US needs to e-mail AMain about the Core RC batteries. They carry other Core RC products.

For bashing they’re fine. It’s on the track that I noticed the pulsating issue activating the esc cutoff because constantly running it for 10-15 mins at a time on jumps and all speeds.

Just emailed Amain Hobbies about it.  Also, I emailed Core-RC (Schumacher) about it too in the vent that they can point us in the right direction.  It is disappointing that LiPo stick batteries that Tamiya compatible (in terms of form factor) are so hard to find...  Most definitively, I'll keep everyone posted on what I find out...  Happy New Year to everyone!

Chaps, has anyone tried these LiPos:

Peak Racing PowerMax Sport 4200 LiPo 7.4V (Tamiya Plug) 45C Battery PEK00568 (138 x 46 x 25mm / 5.45 x 1.8 x 0.98")

They sell on this side of the pond for about US$30.00...  I'd love to know if anyone on here has tried them and any thoughts they may have.

Thanks in advance. :)

Hello Chaps, I've been building a list of potential batteries for Tamiyas (I've got an Amarok and recently picked up a Blackfoot) and the only one that is ideal in terms of length is the Core-RC CR293.  Unfortunately, they're are not available in the U.S. (and they cannot be shipped across the pond due to Airmail restrictions).  138mm in length fits the TW-01 (Amarok) as well as the Blackfoot with small tweaks to the battery stops.  The TW-01 needs stick-type batteries with rounded corners.  The Blackfoot does not need rounded corners.  The real-estate available for a battery on the Blackfoot is as follows: 136 x 60 x 26mm x 60mm (can be adapted to gain a few more mm in length by tweaking the battery stops).  Here's the list that I've been compiling:

 - Core RC 20C/40C 4000mAh 7.4V LiPo or Core RC 30C/60C 4000mAh 7.4V LiPo SKU: CR293; Dimensions: 23.3 x 46 x 133.7mm

-  Venom Power 2S 20C Soft Case w/UNI 2.0 Connector 4000mAh 7.4V LiPo (Rounded Edges for Tamiya) SKU: VNR15085; Dimensions: 132 x 47 x 25 mm

Note: the soft case seems to have been replaced by a hard case but Venon keep the same part number.  With the hard case, the dimensions change to 138.5 x 47 x 25 mm

Soft Case LiPo SKU: 15085 UPC CODE: 845623011015
Hard Case LiPo SKU: 15085 UPC CODE: 885204472774

- Peak Racing PowerMax Sport 45C  4200mAh 7.4V LiPo (Tamiya Plug) SKU: PEK00568; Dimensions: 138 x 46 x 25mm (this one is easily available in the U.S.)

- ANTIX BY LRP GRAPHENE 45C 5200mAh 7.6V LIHV LIPO HARDCASE SKU: 430405 or LRP-430405; Dimensions: 137.5 x 46.5 x 24.5mm

- Turnigy nano-tech 2S 25C Hardcase 4200mAh 7.4V Lipo SKU: 9067000114-0; Dimensions: 138x47x25mm

- Associated WolfPack 2S 35C 4000mAh 7.4V LiPo SKU: ASC752; Dimensions: 139 x 47 x 24.5mm

- GARTPOT 2S 50C Hardcase Deans T Plug 4000mAh 7.4V Lipo; Dimensions: 134x 34mm x 20mm Note: I've seen conflicting information on the actual dimensions, need to physically measure it to be certain.  Most people get it from Aliexpress.

- Gens ace 2S 45C Deans T Plug 4000mAh 7.4V  LiPo SKU: GEA40002S45D; Dimensions: 138 x 48mm x 22mm

- Yuki BRAINERGY 2S-1P 30C Deans T Plug  4000mAh 7.4V LiPo SKU: 801004 Dimensions: 134 x 46 x 23.5 mm (only available in Europe) Note: someone on here measured with calipers and it turned out to be  133.5mm in length.

- Yuki BRAINERGY Akku 2S-1P 40C Deans T Plug 4000mAh 7.4V LiPo SKU: 801004-20 or YM-801004-20; Dimensions: 134 x 46 x 23.5 mm (only available in Europe; will not ship due to Airmail restrictions)

- Yuki BRAINERGY 2S-1P 45C Hardcase Deans T Plug 4000mAh 7.4V LiPo SKU: 801004; Dimensions: 134 x 46 x 23.5 mm (only available in Europe; will not ship due to Airmail restrictions)

As always, any other thoughts or suggestions are most welcome and appreciated...  Hope this helps.  Best regards.

The Gartpot battery is available again in Amazon USA. I know @rwordenjr mentioned some pulsating issues during racing but for bashing around, it seems to be a decent option... the size of my battery pack is 134.5x45.5x24mm - own 2.

I also have a FConegy brand 4000mah 40C 2S that I bought from Amazon. I saw this specific brand from TamiyaLegends in YouTube but the length is about 2-3mm long... it could work with other models but the main issue is that the wire leads are coming out from each sides (balance and main wire)...

There's another FCONEGY on Amazon, specifically, FCONEGY 2PCS 7.4V 4200mAh 2S 40C LI-Ion Battery Pack with Deans Plug for RC Car RC Truck RC Hobby (4200mAh 40C 2PCS) but the dimensions are not compelling: 139 x 47 x 25 mm / 5.08 x 1.85 z 0.98 in.  It appears that this version has both the balance and main wires from one of the ends (not from both), but the 139mm in length makes it a non starter for me.

Yes, that is a lithium Ion though... the LiPo comes and goes but it is a tight fit due to the length. I only use mine for my GF01 kit..
