The masking tape decided to lift on the edges, maybe I painted it when too cold and wet, so I'm just waiting for some tamiya tape to arrive before I can give it some more coats.

It may look better once I get a few more blue layers, silver and black backing. It has only had a couple of light coats, then I had to take off the window masks. Once it has the stickers on, I hope it looks right.

The tamiya masking tape arrived, so I re masked the windows, put a few more layers of blue then silver then as much black as I had left. The next job will be to apply the stickers. It looks a bit dark, I'm hoping that's just the protective coating that makes it dark.

The stickers are the part that I was putting off, but I have started. I decided to do it layer by layer, starting with the lights as they go around corners, luckily they come split, which was a nice touch.

I dont usually use the window frame stickers, but I want to use all the stickers as they were designed to go. I had to cut the side ones to make it easier to fit, the front and rear ones come in four pieces. I am liking the colour now that the covering is removed.

This is how I left it, it was getting late, I'm not sure if it would look better fully stickered up, I kind of like it as it is now. I still have the interior to finish off, the black material has arrived.

Looking amazing!!

What is the chassis name? Noted that it can be adjusted from 250 to 265mm. Can the wheelbase adjusted to suit tamiya 251mm bodies?

It is one that I modified, it started as an xray t2006, but I removed the front parts and made my own. All the multi links allow a great amount of adjustment.

The body is pretty much finished, I changed the position of the bonnet sticker as I didn't like it covering the bonnet vent ( which is how it should really be ) so I put it on top of it. I forgot to put the roof stickers on that go between the front and rear windows, i may put them on when i change the exhaust sticker for a exhaust pipe which I've had for ages. The next job will have to be the interior.

The interior has taken a slight change to plans, I decided to fit the battery above the motor and speed controller, the receiver will go under the dashboard.

The xray centre brace still fits, so I'm using it for the centre console support. I have also changed the top wishbone mount so it's now on the top brace.

Well, the dashboard has been started, I am sort of making it up as I go along, I found some polystyrene packaging, so I used that to start with. I will use some for the centre console, then cover it with car speaker cloth. It has worked out better than I had imagined so far.

The centre console and dashboard is covered, details to be added at a later date. Next will be the rear cover, but as it needs to be removable, I need to decide how to make it.

Really enjoying your scratch build interior  - particularly as you're using things you have to hand, rather than buying bespoke bits and pieces.

Looks really good and well thought out. Looking forward to seeing more. Keep it up 👍

Thanks, I have enjoyed building it.

There has been an issue with the wheels, now that it works, the rear left wheel is not very straight, so its temporarily on some wider offset wheels.

It is now in drift mode, until the wheels that I want become available so I can put rubber tyres on. It currently sits on some graphite front wheels with mst drift tyres and mst rear wheels with mst drift tyres. I cannot raise it too much otherwise it looks strange as the drift tyres are smaller than the touring car tyres so its staying as it is for now. I have driven it around the room, now it's going to sit on a shelf.

A little update, I decided to remove the drift wheels and put some multispoke touring car rims on as they have rubber slicks fitted, which means I need to bring the rear track out a bit more than the driveshafts will allow. I have ordered some parts so I can extend the axles, I will update when they arrive.

The parts arrived, not quite the measurements they were supposed to be, but as it's not going to be run much then it's ok for a shelf model. If I do run it then I can just fit odd rear wheels and do away with the spacers.

I went for 15mm spacers, which is about 10mm wider per side than standard, and allows me to take the wishbone spacers back out and let the driveshafts fit further into the outdrives. I just need to file a couple of mm off the threaded tubes, then I can use some m4 wheel nuts and it will look like original again.

After a bit of thought, I have used some heat shrink on the tube to make up the gap, and increased the hole size in the wheels to sit over the tubes. I have removed 4mm spacers in the rear wishbone mounts, so now it sits fine, if a little high.
