Yeah Racing Aluminum vs Tamiya Aluminum

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone, New Here!

I had a question about the durability of yeah racing aluminum for the tt02. Is it the same quality?

Also, is the yeah racing anodized blue the same color as the tamiya anodized blue?

The blue anodising is a great match for Tamiya's own, and I haven't had any issues with the material quality either - both appear to break under similar stresses. Tamiya's machining tends to be slightly better, but given the huge price difference I would expect it to be.

Overall, pretty darn close.  In some cases, Yeah makes up for Tamiya's oversight on their hop ups.. eg aluminium motor mount for TT.  Tamiya's has fixed holes for gears, where as Yeah allows adjustability for many ratios.

I typically do go for Tamiya first as I compete in Tamiya's Championship series, which only allow Tamiya hop ups.

Stay away from Jazrider parts, just not worth it!

Agreed - in my experience, unless the part in question is very simple and chunky, the combination of poor design, poor machining and cheesy alloy means you are better off with stock plastic.
