Re-Bugged 10152 Posted January 18, 2021 Would someone be able to tell me what the the difference is (if any) between a pinion that is listed as, 1, 0.6 mod AV 2, 0.6 mod Its mainly for pinions in an M08 chassis, and an SRB chassis. Thanks for any advice 👍🏻
DeadMeat666 1675 Posted January 18, 2021 As far as I know, "AV" is what Tamiya calls their bog-standard (read soft) aluminum pinions. I suppose this is in contrast to pinions that are hardened aluminum or steel. I generally stay away from AV pinions when I see them. Could be wrong though.
TWINSET 1793 Posted January 18, 2021 Try this; I thought AV was just Tamiya's way of referring to 0.6 Mod, regardless of the material?

After 20 minutes of searching old threads on this very topic, I've found that "AV" is what they call their butter-soft aluminum 0.6mod line of pinion gears.
Re-Bugged 10152 Posted January 19, 2021 Excellent Thank you, I’ve now written notes and put it with the pinions in the spares box for future reference 👍🏻
