Can anyone please show pictures of where you drive your fantastic RC F1 ?. I always wanted one but have nowhere to actually drive them.

Back in the heady days of pre-Coronapocalypse driving when people were allowed to meet indoors, we used to race in a village hall on a carpet surface that was laid out each session.

Nowadays it is solo runs on a well-swept piece of tarmac.

@Fabia130vRS - Thanks, i did not think fo that cind of courses but when i think about it i think this is hard to find in Oslo also, Closest i could come surface on your video in Olso would be a Tennis course,  close to Viglandsparken, i will check it out but i strongly believe i am not allowed and im sure it cost very much and you must rent them. But i will for sure keep on searching for simillar " open for all" courses maybe i can find i place to drive them.

@TurnipJF - Asphalt qualitty in Norway is terrrible mainly becouse of rough wheter and to much Mountains. That said i know we have a proffesianal and very nice course in Oslo, but im a beginner with Tamiya kits so i would not dream of showing up there without any sort of testing and driving first, also i would ofc prefer to have a practice place beside.

But i realised i must try out this "Boy dream" of mine of a F1 kit, just looking at them drive is some sort of strange therapy :)

@simalarion, yes, I know a tennis trainer and he lets us sometimes drive in the closed tennis courts. But I tend to go to a Hotels Tennis court instead. Here in Croatia its pretty much all open... but of course some are closed and nesd to be rented.

other terrains are concrete football courts or school yards...

what about this?

Don't be put off by the fact you're starting out and assuming everyone else is fast. Get a F1 kit and turn up to a race day. F1 is a slower class and the serious people are less likely to be in it. There are also plenty of people who don't finish due to failures so you're normally not last even if youre slowest!

Just realised that next race meet is sunday and i don't have the new spur i need for gearing options. Typical, when i have a month i just don't get around to it

This got me looking at where me and the old man used to race. I'm shocked to see that a video on YouTube shows the track totally destroyed.

Many a Sunday spent here watching touring cars, nitro and racing the f1. Pretty sure they even had rc motorbikes.

Its not my video but its a sad scene.

@Fabia130vRS - the Smestad public school is not far away but i have been to a few off them and main problem is that its a lot off kids in them during weekends also. But i have not checked out Smestad so i will check out those spaces, thanks.

The shcool yards i have been to this far is not smooth enough and are even bumpy for my buggy’s.

Tamiya polycarbonate cleaner works a charm on such things.

I installed a heat sink with fan for the motor on my F103. The body sits a bit higher but nothing noticeable.

That looks a fancy piece of kit.....having not raced for years there was nothing like this about.

Does this run off the cells and does it efdect the duration of running abilities??

Nice looking f1

I use a 2S 7.4V 5500mAh 120C battery. Should be plenty energy for the 13.5T 2370kV motor. The esc is 80A rated.
considering how little energy the led light uses and the 40x40fan being powerd by rhe reciever and the 25x25 fan of the esc’s designed power connection for the esc fan (that is just moved to the motor in the rear) should not affect it.

the gearing is 35T pinion and 80T spur in high efficiency 0.4 module. Makes the car a relaxing experience to drive as just a little throttle makes the car go very fast. Not to be forgotten, if full throttle applied, the high amount of torque causes the ball differential to slip and acts like traction control rather then power sliding. very stable just because gearing.
Also a micro 1/16 servo is used, not the very small ones but quite smaller then a regular servo. Very l light. Overall the car weights at 1200gr with battery I believe.

also I cutted some ventilation vents for the fan to breath :D

Also its a F103 170mm wide. Thats accomplished by a complete F104 front end and complete rear axle from a F104. I like it this way more with the F104 rubber rims. I could not manage to handle a 200mm F103 on rubber tires. Not sure why. The diameter in the front and rear is different on a F103 I think.

Thank you, and yes, it is a great facility. Definitely one of the tops in the country.

From this view, you can the hobby shop upstairs.          The indoor offroad track is in a separate building.

The thing holding me back from my second car being an F-1 was thinking that "no one races F-! in Omaha." There goes that mental block.

I'm not going to have my TT-02 build by then, as I still need to get electronics and some other stuff, but my partner and I will definitely be showing up to spectate. She didn't even know this hobby existed a month ago and it's something I had put aside over 20 years ago, so we are stoked to even get to watch and participate.

Watched that same video. That track they built is very impressive.  Really liked the overpasses they incorporated into it.
