I'm looking at the hi-caps in the picture and they have different springs and don't seem to have the adjustable collars on them? Unless this is just the mock up (mule) version?

Good spot, I noticed the collars but didn’t realised the springs were not gold.

There is also a spring retainer just under the collars, perhaps this kit will come with 53111 Damper Spring Spacer Set

I've been wanting a Thunder Dragon since I got back into RC in 2016!

I just hope they don't go crazy with the price. If it's closer to the Manta Ray price point I will definitely be getting one.

The Escort and Grasshopper 2 seem to be decently priced going by sites with preorders. The Grasshopper 2 comes with CVAs which is a nice bonus.

got to say I'm a bit gutted by the price point on the Calibra, I was hoping it would be more in line with the TT-02 chassis'

By the time you add in hope ups like the diffs, dampers etc I'm thinking I'd be better off buying the re-release part trees and building one that way.

Why, tamiya why?

You release thunder dragon and topF evo at the same time, its effin hard to choose !!

What happened to the Egress?  Was that a separate announcement?  Places have pre orders setup already.

Pretty sure they'd rather you choose both :)

Yeah, Egress was announced last week @A-Baum, guessing that's why they didn't bother with it today.

Did they change the name of the Top-Force Evolution to just 'Evo'? Not that is matters, what a cool release!

Also the TA-02, always wanted one of those! :)

Wow!!!! This looks epic!! The Evo pictures show the classic spring retainers, spring adjusters, and different springs.  This will be expensive. I pray it has the Titanium screws. The description event mentions the aluminum differentials! EPIC!

I'll build mine with big bores though, and donate the Hicaps to my childhood TF that I'm currently rebuilding, again!

the top force evo will prob not be the same as the original as i have been told some of the original parts are not included in the re-re

and the price of around £400 is really what i was expecting but think they will go up just the same as the top-force did.

and for me they could have made the tamiya in the original instead of that retched new font they use but it will be diff (New dedicated metallic stickers are also included.)

Those of you in the know, are there any differences between the original and re-re decals?

Does the top force evo come with the same high in demand hi-cap set that seems to come available once in a blue moon?

Does the top force evo have the same issues as the regular top force? Such as motor mount ect. Glad i didnt buy a top force locally recently.

Wow, they've dished out quite a few hotties this time. The Thunder Dragon is rad, looks like it's straight out of a wormhole from the '80s! Always liked that body shell.

The Fighter Buggy RX Memorial looks pretty cool too, it gets my attention as a possible all-round basher. It will be very interesting to see its price tag, along with the one of the Grasshopper 2.

Nice new batch of temptations anyway! 😛

£450 ouch! Obviously its going to have all the top gear on it but I got my re-release topforce for £174 is it really worth 3 times that?....but I bet it still very popular? Mind you I've probably spent that and more rebuilding my evo but its worth every penny👍and I've never regretted it!

Would it even cost you $250 to convert a top force to a TFE?

Not sure if this is a fluke or not, but in December a TI screw set was sold for $278

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Tamiya-58107-Top-Force-Evolution-Titanium-Screw-Bags-A-B-C-/143861899357

And there are some other parts needed as well, but there is probably a less expensive way to do this that doesn't require NOS parts. At least I would hope so.

@djmcnz did this 15 years ago and listed all the parts needed. My gut feeling is it would cost more than $250.

But then again, we don't even know if the re-re has titanium screws (I'm going to take a wild guess and say no) and I'm sure there''s some parts that isn't 100 % necessary to make an Evo approximation, if not an identical twin.

Looking good!! And as much as I understand that price and the fact that you've already got one might act as a deterrent, I'm looking forward to you resisting getting one :) Because of course it's worth it, it's that or hardly any rc kit is worth it depending on how you look at it. It's the first re-re run of the Evolution, it's a limited run (my interpretation of the special sale product on the Tamiya website,) so we'll all get one. Or two.

Yeah your probably right I will see one in the flesh and I'll go for it! It was exactly what happened with the terra scorcher I wasn't interested in it good model but not my thing then I went to my local hobby shop and actually seen it sitting on the shelf and?......yes I walked out with the kit! And the thing is it's one of my favourite rc cars now🤔

I've been trying to do a search of the site but I apparently suck at finding stuff, did the Top Force Evo come with titanium screws? Or was that a hop up?

It did. JIS head.

Yeah there's no titanium screws by the looks of things. Also missing the grey rod-ends & tyres the same as standard Top Force, to add to the decal changes.

I'll have to look into the price of sorting titanium screws from elsewhere, I know yeah racing are doing sets for different kits, so maybe it'll be possible to piece together something without breaking the bank.
