New Releases

Sure would have liked to see the Cossie on the XV-01 chassis, but I'll definitely be picking one up. I've been wanting a TA02 anyway. The CC02 Mog is a much better body choice for the chassis, and indicates that Tamiya will continue to grow the range.

The TF Evo is very exciting, too, and the frequency of the Thundershot chassis re-releases is nice to see, because they're excellent runners.  I'd still like to see Tamiya release mid-range 2 and 4WD modern buggies for the non-race market: something like a TA07 based wheeler and a 2WD based around the FF04 transmission. A FWD buggy would be a very Tamiya thing to do, too.

Finally, I really thought that we'd see a King Cab/Monster Racer rerelease this year. Three (!) of my customers are working on restorations right now, which is pretty exciting.

Agree on XV01...

It does seems Tamiya is only introducing nee bodies on TT02 now.. sales goes for M chassis on M05/M06.

I ended up buying the Quattro for my XV. Will probably do the same for Cosworth.

As with most kits, you will need to supply the transmitter, receiver, servo and battery. Depending on the kit version, you may or may not also need to supply the ESC. However they don't have to be Tamiya items. Your Tactix set would be fine.

Try rcmart.com or thezoomroom.ca might be cheaper from rcmart no tax. Don't forget you will still need bearings and a steel pinion if you want to use it.

Thank you for the replies,  would there be any sort of interference issues if I ran both TT02  and TD with same brand of controller ie 2 cars and 2 controllers? I'm likely to only run one at a time as the TT02D will be for proper surfaces though I do have aluminum rims with soft rubber meant for road conditions. Murphy's law dictated that I cracked 3 OG plastic rims in 15 minutes on mostly smooth asphalt road...

I will keep a close eye on canadahobbies and Rc mart for the releases and hope one site has better prices. I've already purchased from Rc mart a MST tire kit and FD3S body shell, the latter not yet delivered. Thanks, i will need to check the zoomroom, that's a new site in my books. Though i do hope they provide a stronger or redisigned A5 bottom control arm block mount.

The Tactix set runs on 2.4 GHz, like almost all modern radios, so you won't have any issues running two together. The 2.4 GHz radio transmitters and receivers are able to identify each other, much like nodes on a computer network, so only the right receiver will respond to its associated transmitter.

The A5 part is still a weakness, but there are a lot of aftermarket fixes for this. I use this brace on mine:

Well done! You’re supposed to give into temptation, if not what are they good for? :)

I’ve preordered some Top Force Evo’s from tamico. Sitting on my hands to avoid going for the Thunder Dragon.

Thank you for the reply, ThunderDragoncy also had a upgraded A5 part made or ordered. I didnt ask him if he 3d printed it or not but I know the aftermarket is good for that part. When I get it and the TD i will swap out the A5 asap.

@Robert5000, wouldn't putting the credit cards in a plastic bag filled with water into a freezer also achieve the same results? The more i look at the Thunder Dragon the more determined i am to get it. Sure a vintage one would be cool purchase but the new one saves the hassle of ordering upgraded electronics. Might need to sit on my hands if a vintage one comes at a good price...knock on wood.

I think it would look better with wide arms and a buggy body. Too much chassis exposed under the Landfreeder body for me.

Will Tamiya produce amore of the sold out kits like the Hotshot/Terra Scorcher or just let them disappear until the next ReRe

Also, didn’t see the Egress on the Tamiyausa site yet...
