I think it might be a good idea to list where people live next to their name in the forum. (Uk, USA etc) I have seen a few posts now where people say has anybody in my country got a... That means having to ask and just makes things harder.

There was also a few posts before about peole saying Easy off oven cleaner was easy to get and get it from your local store. After looking around for a while i was told it was an American product and i live in the UK!

What do you guys think.

i meant to post this topic a while back but i keep on forgetting. I am trying to put all my ideas up today if i can think of what they all are. Not that many people have ideas i noticed (about 25 topics i think) I am sure other people must have ideas. Still a great site though chris.

I already make it obvious where I'm from, mostly because I'm proud to be Scottish (with the accent and everything !!)

I think though that we are a world wide community, and wouldn't like to not reply to a post just because it was written by either an American, Australian or English man !!!

I was just thinking about if they ask what shop you can get things from or something like that. You may reply but that shop does not exist in their country and they go looking for it.

I think this is just a matter of us all being a little careful to specify what country we come from when talking about stores or products by name.

This is the only forum I particiapte in where (far?) more than half of the people are outside the US. So, I've been trying to remember to identify where I am if I write about brand names or (1:1) cars etc.

I try to remember to add (USD) to dollar amounts when talking prices. I'm not really sure the best way to specify dollar amounts so they show up properly in other countries. What do you see when I enter '$'? Do you see the S-with-a-line-thru-it, your own currency symbol, or a picture of a cookie? I have no idea. Let me know.

I've noticed that the main site seems to switch between American (MM/DD/YY) and European? (DD/MM/YY) date formats.

Thanks for using English.

Stu, I don't hear any accent :)

No, we can find it here quite easily in Oz...

Think its a Selleys brand, so ask for it where you find Selleys stuff. Or just call up their national distributor and ask which retailer stocks it locally.

Over here its available in red (caustic) and green (non-caustic) cans. Only the RED works for our purpose! Other countries have a yellow can too, dunno what this is.

bholio,

the accent thing was mainly a dig at Chris.

you talk with people for ages online, but when you actually meet them you sometimes realise they don't sound like you had imagined...... so, Chris hadn't thought I would sound Scottish. Well, as he'll tell you now I do !!
