Ok so I’ve just bought a very nice FF03 🤦

New built with a Scirocco shell which works for me, FWD chassis, FWD shell.

Anyhow not the NIB build I was ideally wanting, but none the less I’m very pleased.

Better get on and sell the Honda now 😂

So, just to continue the conversation for others...

Which kit do you gentlemen see as a better start?  The TT-02R, or the Type S?  I have been comparing them, and they each seem to have their own unique upgrades.  I am leaning towards picking up the R as it is readily available for about half the price of the S.  Does the S have anything necessary that the R lacks?

I think this build hits the question right. I would go for a used hopped up one

From my research this morning,  I can buy a new TT-02R for $120 to my door.  A quick browse of evilbay is showing me used examples of any type of TT-02 are at least double the price of a new R.  For me, I am going down the new kit route.  I have all the spare parts needed to finish it.  And, I don't care for most of the stock bodies available for the TT.  I will be getting a more "American" muscle car body.  Now I just need it to be back in stock.

See my post in trades. £140 inc postage to 🇬🇧 for a built TT02-s with a list of hop ups 🤔

I saw that.  Too bad I am in the US...

I've been considering an on-road for a while also.  These comments have confirmed my inkling for the TT02.  I don't want/need something that is difficult, quirky, or even "authentic" to drive.  Steer and blast is what I want.  It will just be a basher anyhow.

A TT02 will be great mate, loads of spare parts. I've gone off mine because I got some really cheap hop ups and some of the bits keep breaking and find it a bit tame. I put it away for now but I'll come back to it at some point.

I know a few people have got theirs on top form if you look at the race results, there are some great times in.

The thing is to have some different to run and it's all about what mood you're in, I haven't written mine off, I'm just getting a kick out of my M06. Horses for courses the only way you will know is by doing it.
