Discontinued unfortunately.

I feel like it really helped with some of the lighter shades which can be tricky to apply with a can, especially trying to get in nooks and crannies.

hmm only ever heard about LP - X and XF brush-paint from Tamiya, so i ques you figure must be in Lexan then. Was it so Low demand for PC paint that Tamiya stopped producing it?.

I might be spraying into a cap and brushing my Audi black grill since I have no access to brush polycarbonate paint either, that or taping everything off.

Firstly, does it have to be tamiya? You can get polycarbonate paint in bottles for airbrushing, like Parma faskolor. I'm sure you could brush it on, though it might need more than one coat.

Secondly, does it have to be 'polycarbonate paint'? I've had success with regular liquid acrylic paint from art shops which comes in small bottles (the same bottles faskolor...) but is a little thicker.

It remains flexible when dried, doesn't flake off polycarbonate even when bent (I had a test piece bent near enough 90 degrees without issue) and I even tried scratching it off with my fingernails and it was well stuck. I'm not convinced there's such a thing as 'polycarbonate paint'.

I’ve used the Tamiya acrylic pots before, just give it a week or so to dry before spraying anh PS over the top of it. For small details like driver figures and details it’s fine

You can just spray some PS paint into a container and use it that way. To make it easier to capture, i used cut off plastic drinking straws as they fit almost perfectly around the circular nose on the spray, held with a little tape just to make sure.

Its not quite the same as pot/tin paints, so it can be streaky if you dont do it right. But if youre only takling small sections its more than doable.

Seconded on the artist's acrylics. I've also had success with Createx airbrush acrylics, and Krylon Fusion spray paints (except the metallics; they dry too brittle).

Back in the day, someone I knew painted an RC10 body with latex house paint. Worked fine, but it doubled the weight of the body...

I have some very old PC12 Silver - I bought it new (ish) last year, so it was unopened. It was a bit disappointing to be honest but I guess that's due to it's age. Very gluggy and thick, and produces patchy coverage at best. I remember paitning a Hornet back in 1986 or so with black and silver, but back then the brush PC paints were all that was available. I don't remember it being quite as thick as the one I used last year. I wouldn't use it again, it really wasn't the finish I hoped for. I'd use spray and just deal with the complex masking.

I was considering spraying into a tub but at £6 a can for just 2 brush fulls it will be a waste and expensive.

I think ill try airbrush paint on the off cuts first.
