Battery for vintage Tamtech Lancia LC2?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I got a vintage Lancia LC2 Tamtech and would like to run it with my son. I searched the web for a new battery, but couldn't find anything.

Does anybody have suggestions?

Best

Jochen

what voltage do they use?  You can probably find a small lipo that will work, maybe the kind they use in transmitters.

It is a 7.2V battery.

See this picture:

What is a lipo? Sorry, the term is unknown to me....

LithiumPolymer, got it....

it's more about the size and the connector... where to get something fitting. Anybody solved this problem recently?

Don't know where you are located, but you should have a look at online electronic shops like Conrad in Germany.

Maybe something like this will fit:

https://www.conrad.de/de/p/conrad-energy-modellbau-akkupack-nimh-7-2-v-600-mah-zellen-zahl-6-side-by-side-tamiya-stecker-1537716.html

For the connector you can take the old one and solder it to the new battery. If you are only want to run this car sometimes I would keep my hands of LiPos.

Hi Aerobert,

thanks, looks good. Conrad is very familiar to me ;) . Is the size correct?

Changing the connector should be doable, still, I do need a fitting connector, but think will be able to find one.

I don't know the size of the original battery, therefore I can't say if this is the right one. It just looks familiar to the one on the Tamiya product picture. If you don't have the original battery for measurement you should measure the battery compartment. You can filter the battery size then on the Conrad website.
