Best Road Use Motor (TT02)

Evening all,

If possible, I'd like some expertise on the quickest/best motor I can put into my TT-02 as it is currently, I want to avoid using LiPo batteries due to the safety aspect and maintenance/charging requirements. The car will be used mainly on tarmac/road terrains with occasional use on grass/gravel.

I've listed below the set up I currently have as I hope this helps:

Currently using a Standard RS-540SH

Absima 1:10 ESC (7.2V NiMH/2S LiPo)

Carson Reflex Pro 3 Twin Stick 2.4ghz Controller with Servo

Alturn USA High Performance Race Servo AAS-752MG

Hop-Ups:

54500 - High Speed Gear Set 68T

54501 - Aluminum Propeller Shaft

54502 - Aluminum Propeller Joint

54753 - CVA Super-Mini Shock Set

Carson Tuning Roller Bearing Set

It’s hard to beat the reliability of the classic silver can motor. One of those with a heatsink will provide great runtime and manageable operating temperatures in the grass.

Curious as well bro. My TT02 has the same high speed gear set as yours. Running a stock torque tuned can and 4200 nimh battery. Honestly I'm not stoked on the speed of it, seems kind of slow but it's a heavy sob all loaded up. 

 

I just got a brushless tblm-02s 10.5T motor for it and hope that increases the speed.

It will! Considerably!!

I run a 13.5t in mine and it ain't 'alf quick. Yours ought to be faster still.

When's the first run, I'm really curious to know your thoughts on it and the difference it makes?

13.5t brushless will be good. 10.5t might be a bit much off road depending on tyres. Both should give you significant speed increase

For sure bro. Motor is installed and just waiting for the battery to finish charging.
