My latest M chassis purchase.🤣 Real pity Tamiya don’t do any top down convertibles. I think Kyosho used to do an MBG but don’t really know of any others

Wow, beautiful car @Busdriver!   I love those wheels too.   ND is such a great looking car.

Thanks, I started off looking at 500 Abarth’s but they are like driving a brick over a cattle grid. Picking this up next week. The colour combo is quite unusual. The body colour is Silver????

Love the car but also love the background. Many light years ago, I attended a boarding school in Surrey. Those brick buildings with white windows, green background bring back fond memories.

That is silver?  It looked like pearl white to me.  :D  But that silver looks right for the car.

I own a silver car too and depending on the shape silver looks killer.

I test drove a 500 Abarth long time ago..  thing is fun as heck to drive, but yeah, not smooth at all.

Yes that’s what I thought. I’m going to call the seller tomorrow and get the paint code from the VIN plate and check it out. The Skoda Fabia in the background, now that’s silver!!!

That's a good idea!

First time experiencing higher grade rc car kit build from tamiya.

It was so fun… really liked details here and there (rear body post is not floppying around ?!)., simple and robust drivetrain.

i’ve been missing out good stuff for sure.

I will check how it runs this weekend.

I didn't miss Tamiyas "peanut brittle" plastic when I had an M07, my main concern was just the ride height.

Good luck testing it tomorrow.  I tested mine for the first time today. Which motor do you have in it. Mine has got a TT with 21t pinion for starters. With the fan it runs nice and cool. Even after 4 stints of postal racing it was just warm.

I did not realize how excellent the XM1 Competition was until I built it recently and drove it back to back against my 4WD Sabre m-chassis today.  I read that it was superior than my TOP Racing Sabre and they weren't kidding.  It quickly became my #1 m-chassis.  :D  The overall balance and dynamics is like a dream.  No L/R rotation bias, super even and turn radius is very tight.  It drives tiny like my Mini-Z, yet with super stability, acceleration, and speed.

Even with a silly heavy body like the 1000 TCR with Billy and misc bits I made, the car still handles so well.  Now I want one with a Mini Cooper body too.

Unfortunately they don't make these any more so I got the next best thing, the XM1S (#2 for me as my first one is for spare parts).  Electronics will be the same, 1252MG, XR10 Juststock, Thunderpower BL, mini 2S Lipo, and Futaba receiver.

The only thing is the body posts do not line up with the pre-drilled holes on the Mini Cooper, so I will be making my own mounts to make it compatible.   Wish me hope please..

Awesome outcome @Willy iine, any pictures of the chassis?

@Busdriver nice purchase :D my dad is on his second ND now, having berated me in my formative years for having a MK1 MX-5 "hairdressers car" - how the turn tables! He had an Elise and quickly realised he didn't have the athletic ability to get in and out graciously

I'd have another MX-5 in a heartbeat, but there's nowhere for the kids to sit!

I did think about an Elise but as you say limited mobility causes issues. No kids , well not at home anymore so finally thought what the ……..! I think they have lost their hairdressers tag . Apparently there are more single model racing series featuring MX5’s, Eunos or Miata’s than any other car ( in the world) The MD particularly in my colour reminds me of the 60’s Toyota 2000  that was used in You Only Live Twice ( I think)

It's sort of related to the M-chassis, but does anyone know if the Abarth 1000 TCR body would be possible to build with the hood closed? And also, are the tyres sizes front and rear different (55 front (?) and rear 60 mm)?

M08 is awesome. Barely went over 1/2 throttle on straight line.. i want to practice more.

Tires look better than i thought after a pack.

Due to right turn heavy nature of the track, left tire wore out more.

I miss that track! I hope to move back there next year 🤞

I rotate tires every time I run my cars, to help the tires last longer 👍

Please do let me know if you come back :)

I just rotated tires so i can get another pack or so worth of tires..

Also, I heard that local rc community is trying to set up indoor mini z track soon… which i am excited about (because of the weather in winter as you know)

I wish that I had a local outdoor track like that! My on-roaders do parking lot/road in front of house duty, nowhere to run "racey" on-roaders.

If you need any tires let me know, I'll be letting my M05 go soon and I won't be needing the spares anymore.

The colour is called Ceramic Metallic and is silver and white mixed. White in some lights silver in others. Going to be interesting to replicate as I intend, like you to get an ND body for my MB01 and do a mini me version. Going to put the Abarth on an M08.
