I am looking for M rims with an +4 mm offset to fill the arches of the Phat Mini body on my M-05. Does anyone know if there are any other options than the Phat Bodies rims? They seem to sell out quickly and I've no idea if/when they show up again.

Or could I just get some spacers up front (already have the solution for the rear).?

Carten offers black, grey or chrome m-chassis wheels with +4mm offset.

Great! Do you buy these directly from Hong Kong? I found some black/grey ones at tonisport.de - got some grey ones too for another possible M05 project, since they were a bit cheaper than the chrome ones.

I buy all I need for my Carten M210R at Tonisport. A superb shop, if you ask me. The Phat Bodies wheels must be the same as the ones from Carten, only that they have the 1mm offset ones.

I bought my m-chassis wheels and tyres as well as other stuff at racersparadise.de

I found out about the shop from a sponsor advertisment hanging at the local racetrack. I assume everybody buys their Xrays there (judging from the hordes of them on-track). We just go against the grain and run Tamiya buggies instead (just for fun and games). :D

Another shop to keep track of - always good to check prices and availability.

I finished my XM1S 239mm conversion Beetle yesterday..  If I ever get another m-chassis, it will need to be the M08R with VW Van body.  :D  haha

About this car.. I modified the factory bumper to make it the simple design, custom body post mounts, custom rear spoiler and interior stuff; this is a dual CF deck chassis.  Running 1252MG, XR10 Justock with 25.5BL combo, Futaba receiver.  The car drives very well as expected, tight turn radius despite the 239mm wheel base, no rubbing.  👍

That is a seriously good looking bug (on a highly competent chassis, as far as I have read about it). The bumper mod really does it. That is the bodystyle an Euro spec 1967 would have (with chrome surface on the trim, mirrors and bumpers,  though). Well executed B)

Thanks and thanks also for the history lesson!   I honestly don't know much (if anything) about Beetle's history, I just like the shape. :D

I updated my hashtag to include 60's on instagram's post.  👍

Is it possible to drive it like that - or is just for show? Good looking is it, nonetheless!

Thanks!   Yes, absolutely drivable.  👍. There is no rubbing and the ground clearance is actually MORE than any of my Tamiya's and my Sabre's.  :D   It's pretty crazy what one can achieve with the Xpress.

..are these...CC-01 shocks? :O

That is correct. Tried to follow a user from instagram who is using gb-01 shocks and wanted to try.. though i need to raise the shock tower somehow to be able to utilize shocks full stroke

Bravo — what a beautiful NSU Prinz TT that is! Wheels and tyres go very well with the body (gun metal I guess?).

That is correct! One of my favorite colors from tamiya.

I realized that insta user was actually using m06 ball suspension shaft… since i had one which i planned to use for future m06, decided to use it.

what a difference. Full cc-01 shock stroke(no spacer in those shocks).

only thing is that i need to trim the bumper

Nice color, if you're going to run an M05 off road I suggest running a strip of masking tape under the chassis, that should protect it from scratches.

Top tip!! I'll have to look into TBG!  I have to get a repro RC10 body, hopefully they have the 959 cockpit in stock.

Most racing classes use 21.5. 17.5 would be fine. Most important thing to keep in mind is torque. You don’t need a high torque motor / rotor.
