Does anyone know if these Schumacher front wheels use the same bearings as Tamiya wheels?

I'm looking for a good cheap alternative to the Star Dish and Astral slim front wheels.  Thanks

No, they use imperial size bearings. Given that they have said they are working on them, I would suggest waiting for JC Racing Products to come out with their Astute style 2.2" wheels in about 3 weeks. Nothing else seems to fit Tamiya bearing fronts as far as I know.

Thanks Cy. I spoke to JC racing earlier today and he said likely to be end of march before his are ready. Was hoping for a pair or two before then but will have to wait😬

Would a 10mm O.D. bearing fit the 3/8" wheel hole with a bit of machining? Or perhaps a 9mm O.D. bearing with a sleeve?

That's a shame. Probably worth the wait though.

There's isn't enough material to take it out to 10mm

Hmm, that's surprising.

3/8" or 3.75" = 9.525mm, which leaves 0.475mm

Divide by two and you only have to remove 0.2375mm all the way around which is less than a quarter of a millimeter.

You're saying there's not enough room for that?

And assuming you are able to do that keeping the bearing recess central to the wheel

the outer collar is normally only about 1mm so I’d suggest it would be hard to know the impact of removing 25%

I have a load of 2WD disk wheels I don’t need - not looked at the bearing size needed though as came in a bundle with a DEX210
