Let’s see your Lunchbox

Recommended Posts

Just like to see what others have done with they’re lunchboxes. It’s awesome to see all the different colors and mods. Here’s mine, pretty stock aside from Fast Eddy’s bearings, headlight kit, oil shocks and Dynamite 20T mtr

My kids were around 4 and 6 when I first did the lunchboxes, I asked them what they wanted and helped them draw it on and let them colour it in with sharpies..

(Ok, I might have drawn most of it, and I did do the mini one)

Good fun all round and plenty memories made..

Well, it used to look like this:

...but then I did this.

And it ended up looking like this.

And it sat around looking like that for a long time.

But just recently, I got it out and started tinkering around with it, and right now it looks like this.

Haven't yet decided if the "gasser" look is going to stay or not.

Mine looks like a stock black edition, because it is other than invisible bearings.

Do oil shocks make much difference? I have some from my Top Force so thereis no cost other than a bit of time to put them on, is it worth it?

Love the Mini!!! Does that shell fit fairly easily on a lunch box?

I think wheelbase is about 3mm different, so not noticeable. I used magnetic body mounts front and rear rather than try to use the existing side mounts, all straight forward really.

Mine definitely seems to bounce around less now with oil shocks.

The 10 year old wanted a USA theme. The 8 year old wanted a Nike sneaker. They were happy just to use spray paint!

For the many (and I mean many!) Years of building tamiya the lunchbox is one tamiya I've never built and for no reason at all?

Monster Beetle wheels and very old Duratrax tires. They're not glued on; sometimes I switch them over to HPI wheels for use on other cars.

Yes , you're right,  I can see the 5 stud wheel adapter on the back wheel .

I only knew because I fitted them on my boys lunchbox.. and you can stretch lunchbox tyres over them.
