Quicrun ESC sensors Brushless

I think I have issues 

I was running my DEX210 with 3s in the road today and the neighbour came and chatted and the car was just sat switched on for about 40mins going nowhere 

when I tried to drive off after the car wouldn’t move 

thought I had a dead battery so swapped that out but still not getting anywhere 

also removed pinion so motor has no resistance 

servo working fine 

symptoms - no throttle response But at points on the throttle the motor will try and run but really rough

 

thoughts?

the ESC had the fan running the whole time and was hot but not to the point including touch

Well I wired up the motor to a tamiya esc and a nicad and the same Rx and that worked so I can only assume the ESC has died
