Well , I did it. My own personal record. I destroyed a body even before I painted it [V]

To many excessive jumps, to much power resulting in wheelies that made the rear end of the bodz scratch on the ground ......

8,4volts, Technigold and bad friction shocks ...... [:(]

I am not sure how I should repair this body. I do not know which materials I should use.

Maybee some of you have pictures of repaired or restored Blackfoot bodies. Maybe someone can give me advice which materials I should use.

I was thinking about "GFK" and some metal plates ????

Get some ZAP (CA Glue) and cut up some CD cases, glue them behind the cracks. If you don't plan to run the truck hard again it should hold up. Then get Tamiya putty and fill in the cracks.

i have the same body on my dragfoot(see my showroom)...i wrote it off good about 3 weeks ago,the truck body broke in the exactly same spot yours did.i used ca glue, then i used stabilit express glue & sanded &

painted it,it worked quite well, since then ive wiped out the truck again & it has held up well.ive also used cold cure epoxy with microballons(fibreglass dust)i use it allot at work (we call it birdsh?t)..lol...it also works well for small cracks & makes a good strong joint.

@JesterRace and TWOSTAR

I found out that CA Glue means "CYANOACRYLATE (CA) GLUE"

So far , so good. I do not know where I can get CA Glue in Germany.

What about a material called GFK (Glasfaserverstärkter Kunststoff).

I have a picture of what I mean:

BMW7er-Kofferr_02.jpg

BMW7er-Kofferr_03.jpg

BMW7er-Kofferr_04.jpg

Isn't this stuff strong enough. Maybe if I combine it with the CA Glue and parts from CD Boxes.

I need pictures of repaired bodies please [8)]

Alex, CA is normal "Sekundenkleber", you know the transparent one which smells hard and causes tears [:(] [;)], like Uhu Blitz, available everywhere...

I fixed a Blackfoot broken in the same spot by taking a piece of plastic, kinda like lexan, but it's white, bent it around the corner on the inside and epoxy'd it in place.

For some major body work I did on my first SS http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=6316&id=610, I used thin metal sheets, I don't know the correct name, but see the pics, and epoxy glue.

Easily shaped (sheets) and hard as a rock (glue) making a nice lightweight & strong bodyfix. All of this work of course done to the inside of the body, and using Tamiya Putty on any visible cracks on the outside, some sanding, priming and some paint and so on - and the body will be as good as new!

Hi guys!

I had the same problem like DerAlex on my old Ford ranger body, at the same place! I use one plastic piece in form "L"(90 degrees angle) and I glued it inside with "2 components epoxy glue". Now, it's hard![;)]

then, I used one epoxy milliput compound to finish the outside.

Cheers and regards from sunny[8D] Belgium!!!

~Once you have glued the cracks you can use car body filler on the out side has well it rubs down lovelly , but must be primered over the top or will be hard to repaint.

Thank you guys . [:D]

Now that I know how I can repair the body I would like to know sth else. [xx(]

I would like to "protect" the rear end of the body when it does wheelies or when it lands on the rear end. I am thinkint about some kind of wheelie bar like midnight pumpkin has or some "plates" like monster beetle uses to protect the rear end.

Did anyone of you build sucht thing? Do you have some pics?
