Shapeways in Australia

Hi fellas from Down Under.

Do anyone know if Shapeways have a print-partner-company there? Or do they send all their ordered stuff from abroad?

I noticed they offer some rollbars and body attatchments, but what does it have to do with Shapeways and possible production in Australia?

Not that I’m aware, all prices in USD and shipping is quite a lot

Yes, Shapeways. MCI does not have their objects library.
 

Somehow its a pitty, the big benefit of 3D printing is to produce "everywhere" with no very long shipping distance. Seems like I have to send that parts directly to Down Under by myself.

A Aussie needs some Dyna Storm parts and I wanted to know most econonic way to send to him. If Shapeways would have a partner there it would have been brilliant.

Now I know its best for him that I print this parts here at my local printshop and send them to him.

You can get anyone to print your design 

I get my friend to print stuff from thingiverse regularly

I did not. My only question was, if SHAPEWAYS do print in Down Under. That something very different because I have my stuff there anyway.

Putting this files on thingiverse or sending to anyone is absolute no option.

I never said to host your files on thingiverse 

I said it’s easy to get someone else to print your things 

You want shapeways to set up in oz so your friend can have easy access to the parts you've designed as you already have a contract with them?

2 options

he pays for postage 

or

he takes your file to someone to print it and makes sure they don’t keep it as it’s your IP (unless it’s a replacement part then it’s the OEMs IP)

Shapeways postage is bonkers 

maybe chat to Nathaneal and see if you can do business together?

Ah, now I got the point why you mentioned MCI. No its all fine, I can send the parts personaly as I have access to a professional printer and its only a few small bits. In the case, SW would have had a partner in Australia, it might have been better to go that way.

But its funny how sometimes a certain dynamic comes up on a very simple YES/NO question.
