Holiday Buggy 1:1 Pics

Found these pics online today - not associated with sale or original owner, just preserving the pics
I assume it's a Stripper, as I've not seen similar shape by anyone else

According to accompanying  text, it was designed to used with or without the body - body removal involved 8 bolts, 2 people, disconnecting the wiring and about 15 minutes!

Ok I want a 1:1 Holiday Buggy now please (maybe a DT02 will suffice?)

I was curious so I did some Googling and found some more info on the Corsair Stripper

Closest I've seen to Tamiya's original is this one (roof spots, 3 spoke wheels)

well, that was a gold mine of a link. In the comments it lead onto the dunebuggyarchives.com and I didn't realise there were so many variations on the humble dune buggy!

Wow, that really is the real thing! I have a Sand Rover, the same chassis as the original Holiday Buggy.

For research look up the 'Mint 400' race on Youtube - youcan see the real buggies that inspired Tamiya for the Rough Rider, Sand Scorcher and Super Champ.
