Tyres slipping on rims - Lunch Box

Recommended Posts

So - I've noticed the back tyres slipping on the rims, particularly when accelerating from a stop. I can see some suggestions of glue and rubber bands.

What would work best for a lunch box? I don't want to have to keep doing it.

I've got some stormsure glue that will fix just about anything.

Yes, glue the tyres on. Good idea to fit foam inserts before you do.

A small dab of superglue in four spots on the outside of each wheel, let it dry, then same again on the inside 👍

Great - I'll give it a try. Was worried the foam inserts might reduce the shock absorption.

I use rubber bands or clear silicon. Clear silicon can be peeled off and the rims (or tires) can be salvaged of switched around as its less permanent.

What he said ^^^

I only ever use silicone sealant for this.

Prep is as important as the glue/sealant.

Give the tyres and wheels a wipe over with a solvent/alcohol to remove the mold release used when they were formed.
