Hi all,

First foray into RC cars in 28+ years since I was a young boy.

I bought my son a Tamiya Titan (due to lack availability of other models). It's based on a DT02 chassis which seems a pretty popular choice.

Anyway, the majority of the build has gone well, the servo has caused me some headaches trying to achieve dead centre. The steering linkages are two different lengths and the shorter arm is about 5/6mm too short to allow me to get the right hand wheel centred. It is currently massively toe out. And as the adjuster is at the end of the threaded screw, it often comes off with any small bump.

There must be a solution that I'm not seeing? I've ordered another 85mm threaded screw that I'll try but it's going to take 3/4 weeks to arrive. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light?

It's a Power HD 13kg servo.

I am no expert but the steering servo saver (horn) "normally" has 2 side by side holes for the steering rod ends, the one used here has 2 ,one over the other.

If they were side by side the rods will need to be shorter. Perhaps you could get a servo saver faster? if of course the fitment works

Thanks, I’ve found this one which I can get delivered in a few days. It has an adapter for the 25t spline so that’s good. Not sure it’ll add the necessary length but can’t hurt to try.

Aye, that ought to do the trick. It appears to match the geometry of the standard DT-02 servo saver quite closely.

As a matter of interest, did you not receive a standard DT-02 servo saver in the kit?

Riseup, Sorry if I confused things, the link was only to show the style of the servo saver. I should of stated that sorry. I would not know the proper fitment

I did but it won't fit the 25t spline, the fitments are all too small.

25t is standard Futaba. That’s included with every kit. It’ll say “Tamiya” or “Futaba”.

Indeed. The servo saver pieces are moulded to be a snug fit on the servo splines, so you might need to press quite firmly to get it on, but that is a standard size as @rwordenjr correctly states.

All sorted. The new servo saver has worked nicely and I used the longer connector from the suspension and swapped them over. I saw a video where someone running the same truck used the shorter connector on the suspension which slightly improved handling.

Looking at your first picture it looks that you must swap the two steering links (the postion of the servo saver is not correct). See step 26 of your manual. Also look at the correct position of your servo saver in this step.
