lsear2905 1279 Posted March 11, 2021 I would like all kits to come with the appropriate engine position and driven wheels if they are based on an actual car. Obviously things like Kongheads, buggies, etc, are exempt from this rule! They are primarily a model company after all.

You have 4WD rally cars, buggies, trucks, etc, and several FF cars that have FF bodies. It's understandable that they can't do too much about the many RWD bodies, since getting a 1/10th touring car to handle well with an FR setup would be nearly impossible. If you don't believe me, take the front diff out of an XV01 and see what happens

A WT02 that ditched the front gearbox option from the WT01 so it has front kick up and shorter wheelbase - say 260ish, with inserts like an M-chassis to lengthen or shorten wheelbase. Tall shock tower option for CVA 87mm short shocks instead of mini shocks on the wide arms would give them a whole raft of options for rugged, cheap, fun, fairly scale looking trucks. Use that lovely big, square, front mounted battery tray from the GF01 for proper batteries. How about the centre servo from the DT03? Simple, works great, existing parts, and easy to integrate into a chassis. All the hop ups, wheel and tyres available for Comicals and GF01 would fit, and with the exception of the front chassis extension and shock towers it's all existing - but importantly, tough, cheap and good - Tamiya parts. 2

Jonathon Gillham 4595 Posted March 11, 2021 For me it has to be a new buggy range like the TA/TRF treatment for onroad. A new DB03/DN02 and TRF5XX and TRF2XX. Preferably just like how they do the onroad, tried and true TRF for competitive and some innovation in the DB/DN cars with a clear upgrade path for the cheaper ones.

That would make a difference, but mean that I won't have my massive stock of bearings that if valued in 1980s dollars are a house deposit. It would be nice if all shocks went up a level, friction to CVA, CVA to alloy 1

Morinstal 170 Posted March 11, 2021 I want a 4wd rerelease buggy kit from hotshot / terrascorcher family with better plastic/ carbon reinforced plastic and all modern upgrade parts / modification - frp, diffs, metal pinion/gear, metal propeller shaft, square lipo battery fit, aluminum parts, oil shocks, etc - that could withstand modern electrical technologies, all inside 1 kit box.
blofeld 63 Posted March 11, 2021 For me: 1. Obvious but re-release the last SRB- it’s so easy all the parts are there- forget the Ford sponsorship- they would make money 2. Blazing blazer as per prev posts as an entry level 3 speed 3. Scale bodies ++ particularly for the CC02 chassis to really give it some presence in the scaler world (jeep jl, land cruiser, raptor, even performance SUV like Uris would be fun!) 4. as rtr is taking over for bashing the market for Tamiya is really the builders. We like quality and engineering and realism. There is no excuse not to have full ball race and oil shocks in every kit

Front-mounted motor, high-quality scale plastic mouldings, metal links. Basically an SCX10-III with a Tamiya badge on it. Agree with this. Also, I know it’s kind of niche, but something akin to the HPI Wheely King but with a Tamiya badge. Solid axle,, 4wd , scale , but smaller than the Clod. Basically something longer wheelbase than the GF01, but smaller than a clod . Almost like a solid axle MP or Lunchbox , in fact those shells could be fitted to them. They could call it the Lunchbox 2 Also, like the Wheely King, it could be sold to be set up as either a Monster Truck or a crawler .
Nicadraus 6130 Posted March 12, 2021 Dream kits. Let's see... XV-01R SW - short wheelbase, fully upgraded and release it with old-school hatch bodies like the Corolla WRC and Renault Clio FF-05R - As @ThunderDragonCy had mentioned, an FF-05 with tub chassis. But I want it in R version. All carbon reinforced plastic parts, CF shock towers and motor brace, DCJ, TRF SSBB shocks, aluminium bits, fully upgraded gear diff with steel gears and aluminium cover, aluminium steering set, aluminium turnbuckles with TRF 420 style tie rods, etc. This is to skip over spending on upgrades and buy the kit already hopped-up out of the box. Wild One 2022 - A Wild One upgraded with carbon fiber shock towers, carbon reinforced plastic for the tub chassis, roll cage, suspension arms. Re-designed ball bearing steering set, new set of TRF style buggy shocks, aluminium wheels hexes, universal steel shafts, oil sealed gear differential, battery bay for Lipo. Hard plastic body, aluminium roof, aluminium servo mount,
gordb 121 Posted March 13, 2021 I can't remember who made this picture originally (simensays perhaps from the number plate) - so full credit to them. But this is my dream kit: an old school metal 3-speed FJ40 hardbody - ideally a short wheelbase version.
