Recommended Posts

Sorry to hijack this thread, any ideas on where I can get a set of front and rear tyres from?

I Found the tyres, I don’t suppose you have a rear axle tube or a chassis in your spares pile do you?

Def not a chassis. And the only tubes I have would be the ones up front but I can check again

Very cool build. Was looking to see what I could source but there isn't much left these days.

Get some steel wool and polish them up, will look like new and function just the same! Restore rather than replace whenever possible :D

Please continue to enjoy my journey with me on my 58036 build. Next up is Michele Mouton.

I’ve had the entire tree new in package for about a year so I think it’s time that I retire willies and let her drive her Audi Quattro rally. I’m also going to do up the hood vents since I needed them too.

I didn’t want to let Willy’s with his Audi apparel go to waste so I found other Audi Quattro for him to drive

hey everyone. My 58036 saga continues!!  I’ve got the Tamiya bug again after building a re re Lunchbox w my Nephew  and look what I found on eBay!!  I hopes it an Audi or Opel Ascona . Sure looks like it. I think I got it for a song as not everyone knew what it was (it had some 57 Chevy body on it and big tires)  shipping was quite expensive but what can you. Shrink-Flation !  The car is a little cracked up in the front but I’m hoping my 3-D printed parts stash has enough to fix it

I still have not seen the car yet   when it gets to my US east coast from the Colorado Rockies I’ll post up

Great find . Nothing like spotting something rare a cool lurking online, not properly described or named.

Good luck!

I mocked up my new 58036/7 with my spare body and my HCT tires. Looks like I’ve got some front end work to do on it but this should be fun!

I had no idea those chassis parts were so rare. They have an awful lot in common with the OG Wild Willy don’t they? There is a thread in the Tamiya Designs section where someone 3d printed a lot of parts for their very frequently run Wild Willy… may be worth finding that.

Yes these share a front end and many parts with original wild Willy’s. I seem to be able to find some files on the bulkhead and suspension arms available I just can’t find a printer to produce them. I’ve uploaded to files to craft cloud but I don’t know how to respond to their sizing and materials question so I’m basically dead in the water for replacement parts until I find someone who knows more than me.
