Busdriver 6209 Posted April 14, 2021 I get what you are saying my criticism of the T3 in fact is it’s dissimilarity to Carver in that you cannot steer the front forks or counter steer them. The single front wheel three wheeler is flawed in my opinion (despite my opinion of the Flamingo) a much better alternative is the Morgan style. Much more stable and doesn’t require tilting mechanisms at all. If I had better engineering skills I think it would be possible to make something with say an SRB front suspension and some form of trailing arm rear. I think I may have suggested this already!!
Willy iine 18806 Posted April 14, 2021 I agree on the flawed design of the fork not being able to steer.. it's like a bobble head just dangling in the direction the chassis is tilted. I mean it's fine for a $100 chassis, it is fun to drive the thing casually but as my first post, I would not spend extra money on it. I think my Dual Rider looks good per box art and is a fantastic conversation peice when I have visitors. I still like the older Willy and Billy figures though. I know they are more challenging to paint properly, but that is the fun of building Tamiya models. I can see myself buying another Flamingo to paint it in a desert camo scheme.. And one of the first things he said after his initial awe of the concept wore off was “They should make a version with 2 wheels in front “

When riding a motorcycle it is perfectly possible (and very stupid, but I was young and therefore obviously immortal) to negotiate smooth B-road corners quite quickly, without touching the bars at all. Just by loading bodyweight through the footpegs. I think the T3-01's rather crude suspension is more of a limiting factor. Though the hop-ups do seem to help a bit, a perfectly smooth surface helps more. 18 hours ago, Busdriver said: If I had better engineering skills I think it would be possible to make something with say an SRB front suspension and some form of trailing arm rear.
