They are all nice and christmas'ey, but put my CPU load up to 100% when browsing the homepage...! My computer isn't that crappy with a PII-400MHz processor, IE6, GeForce2 GTS and 768MB RAM or is it...?

Anyone else get this...?

Yes, the snowflakes pin my CPU too. Only 3 more months of winter, then they'll be gone. Although I guess it's only fair that the Aus and NZ guys get the flakes when it get cold where they live...

ok ok ok they'll be gone shortly. The snow in the UK is always a bit crappy!

Interesting about your machine slowing down. My machine is a fairly average machine - but runs with no probs?

I like the snowflakes! A nice holiday suprise. And they didn't slow down my machine either. Of course, I'm on dial-up so I can't get any slower anyway.[;)]

its not the internernet connection that would slow anything down the code is just about 2k which is peanuts over even a 56k modem.

I had a blizzard running on my machine (about 5 times more snowflakes) before I started noticing a slowdown.

like i said they will be gone by the 26th - just mention it incase there is an issue with your machine which is making it go slower in general than it need too

The Apple Mac I normally use (225Mhz processor, 94MB ram, IE5.1) slows a little on the home page, but nowhere near as slow as when the site had the vertical scrolling member lists on the left. Fortunately my new Apple Powerbook takes it all in its stride with no difference with or without snow. Both computers are running different Java machines. Maybe this is the cause?
