 I think so...? They still take 6mm bearings, and are the same length. But the re-re uses screw-in pins to hold on the drive washers, like a modern buggy, instead of the press-fit ones on the originals. So if you get the axles, you need to get the drive washers and screw pins from the re-re as well.

No, but they did sell an entire retrofit gearbox just for the original cars. I don't know how available it is now, though.
