hi all,

just wondered if anyone on here will be doing any of this years on road iconic rc series?

@catman79 yes - for the first time ever, I have booked to do every event (this is assuming my summer holiday doesn't go ahead, which clashes with the Broxtowe meet).  Usually I wouldn't do all the meets as there is enough stuff going on locally and nationally to keep me busy, but this year I've got enough fuel money saved up having not been anywhere in months, plus a complete lack of the more laid-back local stuff like indoor truck meets, plus a slight change to my family time gives me every Sunday to myself, means I could book do to all the rounds completely guilt-free.

Round 1 at Carlisle is going to be an interesting one, I've done some long drives for RC events but this is listed as 5 hours on the shortest possible route.  Could be looking at £200+ and a few polar bears to get there and back in my van.

I had originally planned to enter just FF class (with an FF01 or FF02, depending on what works better on the practice day).  However I "wisely" also selected the M-chassis class to be used as a second choice in case FF was full, but have ended up being placed in both classes for most events.  I think Broxtowe was over-full so I will just be doing FF there.  I don't actually mind doing two classes, I suppose it means I don't have a wasted journey if both FF cars break down or I have an otherwise bad day.  I tend to find the day disappears fairly quick when I'm doing two classes, there's not much time to kick around and socialise with people.  I'm going to try to get to the Saturday Practice for most of the events, but will have to see how family stuff and childcare works out this year.

My wife might decide to join me for the Carlisle event, largely depending I guess on if we can get childcare, what the weather looks like and if we can extend the camping by a couple of nights, it might be about the only holiday we get this year and I've never been to that part of the country :)

What will you be racing?

hi Alex,

im pulling my old 415 out of retirement and entering the gt class, can only imagine how that will end lol. im hoping to do both days aswell, looks like ill be going alone though as my mate had confirmed he's dropping out.

ill pop over and say hi at some point. i had thought about also doint the f1 class but as you say time dissappears when you try and do that, so i decided against it! just debating wether to camp or get a hotel for the saturday night!
