wtcc5 4896 Posted April 29, 2022 I continued to optimize my design and now have 3 variations available. 1. Carbon-Thunder-Classic: Standard size for sub-c-shaped batteries and much space for esc and rx. 2. Carbon-Thunder-LiPo: Standard size for modern hard case LiPo batteries and much space for esc and rx (shown here with a shorty LiPo). 3. Carbon-Thunder-Pro: The chassis sports a 10mm longer wheelbase (like later buggys have) and uses Tamiyas #9805901 steel drive shaft. The design is for the use of shorty LiPos with the battery positioned inline. For this chassis a low-profile-servo, small esc (like LRP AI Runner Reverse, Robitronic Cube 2 or Hara Twister) and small modern rx are recommended.

I did some designs like this if my own a couple of years ago but never got off the drawing board. I really like the Pro.

I do like the TS wing though, and think that may well look brilliant if you swapped the standard somewhat naff wing for the TS jobbie. It might not, but it would be neat to see it!
wtcc5 4896 Posted June 3, 2022 The carbon chassis parts arrived some weeks ago. The quality is convincing: Chassis assembly: Battery mount: With the gearbox-suspension-units attached:
bRIBEGuy 3044 Posted June 3, 2022 Looking good! How did you get the parts cut? CNC? Laser? Waterjet?
wtcc5 4896 Posted June 3, 2022 @bRIBEGuy: These are CNC milled parts.

wtcc5 4896 Posted June 23, 2022 I finished the work on the three carbon chassis and made "manuals" for them. As I got inquiries already, exactly one production run will happen. If you are interested please let me know here via p.m. until Wednesday next week. Mention which version you want and how many. The price will be approximately between 40-50€ plus shipping. StueyS 41 Posted June 26, 2022 Hi all. I ran my rere TS today at my local off road club. It is basically kit including the silver can, A5 reinforcement part and different front shocks. Unfortunately I clipped the side of our crossover bridge with a front wheel and split the front wishbone at the front hingepin hole. Are the wishbones known to be weak, or was I just unlucky? I am an experienced racer and set a very quick time with my Associated B74.1 today, so I can still drive! Thanks 🙂
taffer 948 Posted June 26, 2022 I'd say unlucky, I've had splits occur after 50+ hours of running

I have all of them including the original TS front universals, and laid out side by side the differences are minimal and within tolerance for my TS.
Knighte 12 Posted September 20, 2022 Also... using the supershot centre driveshaft cups and the TT02B centre driveshaft upgrade - looks nicer and sturdier than the standard thunder shot thin driveshaft with plastic outer cups setup.
