Apparently we are getting a new wild one?

Recommended Posts

I've heard some quite reliable rumours about an all new rc buggy? Something to do with the wild one or it has wild one in its title! Normally I take release rumours with a pinch of salt🙄 until I actually see the item but I'm going against my instinct here🤔 apparently its going to be announced tomorrow?. Could be a up to date wild one or some sort of monster truck or nothing and a wast of your time reading this thread.....if it's the latter please accept my apologies😕

Interesting, I'd not heard about this, but if it's true, I hope it turns out to be a modern-style sand rail.  I find it odd that there are so many seriously cool-looking and capable 2wd and 4wd buggies in the 1:1 world but Tamiya haven't got anything in the line-up that even slightly looks like them.  Most of the other big manufactures have got something, and the Chinese competitors are undercutting Tamiya prices and specs with buggies that look great.  I'd love so see a modern sand rail with twin stars on it.

Like I say I don't like to continue a rumour until I actually see it for myself but I've heard it from a few people!  but I suppose its wait and see?

I don't think that Tamiya have moved beyond the stage of milking nostalgia with comical releases quite yet. That said, a comical Wild One would be a cute addition to the lineup.

Knowing Tamiya this might do for the Wild One what the Vajra did for the Egress. Then again, I'm prepared to be pleasantly surprised!

A wild one update would be amazing, fingers crossed. It’s hands down the best looking buggy tied with the Fast Attack

A comical version not so much.

I'd heard this rumour too, with some people calling it the Wild One "Max". How very Traxxas!

i'm looking forward to see whats announced tomorrow.

Tamiya seem to stick to the same trick all the time. I realise that there are many companies that specialise in 4x4, crawlers, sand racers etc that would be your first port of call if you want that kind of model BUT Tamiya don't even try! The g wagons are toy like. Tamiya seem to knock out the same old stuff which is a shame because you can not be the quality.

They've seen the Kyosho Scorpion and Turbo Scorpion re-releases and figured they can do the same thing but all they've included is a Sport-Tuned and a set of bearings.  Either that or it's a DT03 Racing Fighter with a new sticker sheet. ;)

Yes.. DT-03 with a sticker sheet.    I was thinking about that, until I realised it had already been done.

Well that was a bit of a damp squib🙄 but we may get another run of wild ones for those who missed out the first time? Never had one myself but they do look good!

Maybe it still happening! All over social media tamiya legends etc..

When it comes to tamiya I always live in hope! A few years ago a small tshirt company was using the blackfoot in their livery to sell their tshirts etc and the rumours around that was tamiya were going to produce a limited number of said trucks? But that never materialised

Pretty sure it's just this thing. Just had an email from Jadlam about it.

Says a lot that we would have been more excited by an RC car than this "real" one

Who builds a garage with no power sockets over the bench and no lights?

Summink weird going on with them bricks on the corner of the doorframe too.

I doubt the authenticity of this artist's impression

It’s quite bizarre, life imitating art.... Tamiya have licensed this car to be copied.... just think about that for a moment, I am sure there would have been smiles around the board room as this was signed :-)
