Maybe if I write something in here, I'll actually get off my *** and get something done in the hobby room this weekend! It's not a big room, so it's filled up fast with clutter over the last several months since I started aggressively collecting. So I need to reduce down to a single work area (currently have two hanging desks - one for laptop WFH capability, the other for model builds). I purchased two display cabinets that I need to put together, for displaying models in a mostly dust free manner (I'm a proud cat dad of 5, and there's no shortage of fur floating around when I can't keep them out!). The cabinet specs are 31.5”W x 15.7”D x 63”H, with 4 shelves that can easily hold 2 models each. I'd like to modify some of the spaces between shelves to double up, to make better use of the space without too much clutter between models hopefully. There's also plenty of room on top since they are only 63" tall, so I have some other ideas for display on top. I'm hoping to get display room for about 30 models from both cabinet areas. I'm probably going to need another couple of those cabinets in the future, but want to feel these out first. I'm at 49 models now, but only 20 are ready for display (albeit needing some finishing touches).

So then comes the task of organizing close to 20 NIB kits (+ 5 waiting on Tower to stock and ship), and also organizing the boxes of projects waiting for full rebuilds, plus organized storage of the empty boxes from completed models. I'd like to mix in some of the vintage boxes as part of the display areas, to give it that hobby shop feel we all love.

I haven't sat at the build desk and done anything since early May, and sadly left it a mess. I'd love to get that all straightened up and organized, so it will inspire me to pick up where I left off. Right now I just see a mess and there's no motivation to sit down and tinker. Wish me luck, and have a great weekend!

Good morning, peeps!  It's Friday again!  (OK, technically it's afternoon now, but I originally wrote this at 8:30 and just discovered it still sitting unposted in an abandoned browser tab)

Who is up to anything exciting this weekend?

I'm back to a standard weekend for the first time in ages, which will be nice.  WFH this morning, hope to finish around 1pm, then I need to put some shelf racks up in my office / hobby room / bedroom for my clothes to hang on, since my wife downsized her wardrobe and doesn't have space for the half dozen shirts that I down.

After that I'll probably get straight out for a walk.  I've been avoiding walking recently due to laziness and boredom, but I booked myself a solo walking holiday in November so I've got the motivation to get out and exercise now.  My back is giving my grief this week, currently I'm trying to resist the urge to reach for some stronger painkillers, a walk will no doubt help but if I've got painkiller brainfog I could easily lose the motivation to go out.

Tonight I'll probably write up some project progress from this week - I've had a fair bit of RC tinker-time, thanks to the mild evenings we've been having, but nothing has really gone to plan - which makes for a frustrating session at the workbench but generally makes for a more interesting write-up.

Tomorrow is daddy/daughter day.  Looks like it's going to rain all day so we might not get out for an adventure, downside is a boring day at home, upside is she won't be pestering me to go to the park, where I have to sit on an uncomfortable bench for 2 hours and get dragged around and turned into a monster for the benefit of the games she plays with her friends.  Hopefully we can get up to some craft things at home, maybe we can paint some pictures or something.  It's too wet to paint the lunchbox body I bought for her earlier this year.

Tomorrow night - probably just stream a film, or maybe catch up on TC updates in the studio.

Sunday - workshop day.  It's less than a month until Southern Scale Trail, so I need to pull out all the scalers and check them over.  Got new driveshafts to fit on the 6x6, plus I'm not happy with the body mount solution.  Need to make interiors and fit drivers to two of the rigs and probably tidy the interior installation in the BOM.  I doubt I'll get all that done on Sunday, but I can at least make a start and hopefully tick some cars off as Complete.

Got lots of tidying needs doing as well - I've been putting lots of jobs off, but it will reduce my stress if I can tidy things up.

Evening - planning on a creative night in the studio, need to finalise my DJ set for a party in a fortnight, and get back to writing again, as it's been a few weeks since I did anything.

Have a great weekend wherever you are :)

For me I've had too much 'excitement' for the week (mostly bad) so a super boring weekend is extremely welcome.  B)   Bad news that my village is going to tear up a small section of my lawn to replace a water main valve in the coming weeks.. I've been trying so hard this spring/summer to improve the overall look of my grass aimed at full completion next year.  This is going to be a huge set back in that part of my lawn.. and obviously water will be shut-off to my house during the repair so that is also not fun.  Then work is going so bad (not my fault and my leaders do not blame me for it as it is our investment partner's local team who totally f-ed up a project) it is borderline a joke.

I did however finish my F104 a few days ago and it turned out nicer than my expectations so I was very pleased about that.  :D

Friday.. Finished my early morning house chores.   WFH.. if I can get through the super thick muck this am work wise, I think I can make it through rest of day without major problems.

Then, I have a couple errands I need to run with my younger kid this afternoon.. getting ready for the new school year, etc.

If weather is nice, I plan to take my e-bike for a relaxing ride, relax in my pretendRCshop, then maybe drive my Mini-Z 4x4 a bit, stream a movie before calling it.

Saturday..  weather permitting with hope, I plan to pull out my GR Supra for a nice weekend drive after early morning house chores.  I had to postpone both days last weekend as weather was just not up to par and streets were too wet.  I still have not done the caulk work and don't feel like working on it so I think I will pass on that and try to enjoy the day in my pretendRCshop and ride my e-bike in the afternoon.  Then stream a movie at night and call it.

Sunday... basically a repeat of Saturday if all goes well.

For me, boring is a luxury.

Have a nice weekend!  B)

This was the last work Friday, I now have 3 weeks summer holiday. ^_^

I have some plans for 3d prints to repair the Bullhead Big Bear, but will also be on holiday to Germany and Denmark with wife/kid. After that, the wife's hobby room and kid bedroom need to be swapped so chores time. The real car needs maintenance, so these weeks will pass quickly...

It's Friday again, team!  What are we up to this weekend?

It's another standard quiet one for me.

Friday - working until around lunchtime today, then I'll probably get through some quick jobs in the workshop before I head out for a walk.  It's raining here now but forecast to dry out later.  Not sure if I'll go to my usual spot, or drive into the Mendips to walk somewhere new.

Evening - maybe work some more on my set list for the party next weekend, but mostly probably play vintage games (currently doing a play-thru of Memento Mori for Doom 2, I remember playing this co-op back in the 90s), sip some beers and relax.  I'm all caught up on my Tamiyaclub project threads now, so that can relax for a bit.

Saturday - take my daughter to the library for storytime and to exchange some books.  The shelves have been decimated this summer, I suppose it's great that kids are reading during the summer but we went last week to get the next in a series and literally the whole series was checked out.  Not sure what we'll do after that, I don't know if the budget will support going into town for lunch.  I guess we'll find something fun to do at home, although with my back pain it's hard to play on the floor with her now.  Maybe we can go for a walk and cook burgers in the van if it stays dry.

Evening - got a recipe for some pork burgers to try, then not sure if I'll stream a movie or go do stuff in the studio.

Sunday - workshop day, the main scaler collection is all ready for SST so I can focus on the Land Cruiser project.  Rock sliders and rear body mount are the must-do items, hopefully won't take too long so I can work on the interior panels.

It'd be great if I can be throwing decals on the body by Sunday evening.  I'll stick some awful low-budget horror on Amazon while I'm hiding all the battle scars on the FJ40 :)

Have a great weekend everyone!

This weekend I am hoping for another full round of super bordom as boring is best.   I still have not heard back from the village when they plan to tear up a section of my lawn to do the water main repair..  I really do not need this anxiously waiting stress.

Friday.. WFH.. after going through my emails and any phone calls, I plan to try that TPMS relearn for my new winter wheel set for my STI.  I bought an ATEQ Quickset-X and been playing with it a bit to scan the TPMS transmitters, etc.  this is my first time trying it so a bit excited.  :D    The new wheel set is just some modest Enkei TFR 18x8.5  ET45 wrapped in 245/40 Continental DWS06Plus.   It is basically stock setup except the offset is 10mm more aggressive and all season tires.   The car came with summer tires so cannot use in the winter.. plus the tires are getting somewhat worn so it is great for summer driving, but too dangerous in the snow.

If all goes well, I plan to go for a quick test drive to make sure there is no balance issues with the new wheels/tires at expressway speeds.   Then work on assembling the super mini CVA's and maybe the high torque servo saver as well for my upcoming MB01 build.

Afternoon, if I feel like it, will go for a relaxing ride on my ebike and then just relax rest of the day in my pretendRCshop, play some tunes in my music room, watch TV before calling it.

Saturday.. if weather permits, going to take my Golf-R for a nice weekend morning drive after early morning house chores.  If I feel like it, I may work on the caulking in the kitchen which I dread doing ..  then ride my ebike in the afternoon and relax in my music room, stream a movie before calling it.

Sunday.. basically a repeat of Saturday.   I hope my MB01 arrives soon.  Can't wait to build that Abarth.   :D

Have a great weekend, everyone!  B)

Hello everybody, it's Friday again!  And over in my little corner of the world it's a Bank Holiday too, which means an extra day of not working.  Well, more specifically, an extra day of not doing the day job.

So, what am I up to?  Well, it's going to be a bit busy this weekend, because it's a Bank Holiday, and they're always busy - for some reason the population of the UK doubles during Bank Holidays - but also because there's other stuff going on.

Friday - work this morning, then into the workshop this afternoon to hopefully dry-finish the trailer.  That means I should have all the panels on, the A-frame constructed and fitted, and the wiring for the lights plumbed in.  It would be nice to give it a test-run around the garden.  After that, all I'll need to do it paint it, mount the lights, and fill it with scale stuff.

I may go for a short walk if there's time.

Saturday - up early to get back in the workshop.  Need to make solid progress on the FJ40.  Main plan is to extend the chassis rails and fab a front bumper, tidy up the rear and work out what I'm doing about a rear bumper, then throw in the electrics.  That'll give me a working runner that I can take to SST, so I can relax a bit.  Stuff like lights and interior can wait until next weekend.

Afternoon - drive to Bristol for a mate's big summer party.  Fingers crossed the weather stays good.  I'm playing an hour-long hard techno set at 8pm, then staying on for an hour of back-to-back with 2 other DJs.  I'll probably head home for a takeaway after that, unless the party spirit takes me and I stay on for another hour-long set.

Sunday - need to confirm with child, but I thought I'd take her to Butterfly World, to see some butterflies (obviously) plus the little zoo and farmyard, as she's been asking to go there for a while, then stop for lunch on the way back.  We drive right through Avebury Stone Circle to get there (yes, it is a Neolithic stone circle, and yes, there is a road that runs right through the middle of it) so I thought we might stop there on the way home to see the stones and the museum.  She's got right into museums now too (which is awesome because they're among my favourite places) so hopefully it'll be a good day.

Monday - I haven't done a beach run this summer, so if the weather dries out I'll take the child to the sand for the day.  We can charge up the cars and she can chase them around, I'll cook sausages in the van, and if the traffic isn't too bad, drive home via Cheddar Gorge, which only takes about 2 minutes but is a nice little run with loads of scenery.

Probably kick back with a couple of beers on Monday evening and get ready for the welcome and relaxing break of returning to work on Tuesday

Anybody up to anything exciting?

Hummm... nothing exciting for me @Mad Ax  Enjoy your extra day!  :D

Friday.. WFH, just waiting for the village folks to come by to fix the water main to the house.   Not sure exactly when they are coming.. might be today, might be Monday or even Tuesday..  seems my issue is considered low priority to them as there isn't any visible water leaking on the ground.. so they will come when they're finished with something more urgent I suppose.

I got my early morning house chores done super early today just to get it out of the way.   I'm going to be adjusting tire pressure on my Golf-R and Supra today bumping it up 2psi as temps fall.  5 more weeks and both cars go into hibernation.

Besides this, going to work on my Mini-Z 4x4 to see if I can reduce the light bleed from the headlight LED's.. the front edge of the hood lights up considerably so I want to see if I can minimize that.  Then crack open my MB01 and put a few steps in.

Tonight we are having sushi so looking forward to that.  :D  Then relax in my music room and watch TV before calling it.

Saturday.. weather permitting, going to take my Supra out for a nice weekend morning drive.  I accidentally bumped my left foot into a chair the other day and bruised it pretty badly.. enough to not be able to drive my MT cars due to pain.  I don't think I fractured my toe.   My Supra has the ZF8 transmission so no issue.

Then heading to the village to their annual recycle program to recycle my old macs and audio gear.

Then try to relax and work on my MB01 rest of day, drive my new Mini-Z 4x4's a bit too.

Evening will be spent relaxing in my music room and stream a movie before calling it.

Sunday.. weather permitting go for another round in my Supra in the morning, then relax rest of day as I will do on Saturday.

Have a great weekend, everyone!  B)

Sunday..

Last weekend (Friday) I did and oil change on my DD and my truck. I got a new DA polisher with the gift card i got for my birthday back in July and spent the whole weekend cutting and polishing my truck. It has been painted over a year now and there was some sanding marks here and there from when the painter had sanded out some imperfections and not polished them out.

So I went over the whole truck 3 times and got the paint 90% there, then polished and waxed.

It's Friday again, peeps!  What are we up to this weekend?

It's a quiet one for me, the first quiet one in a while, and I could kind of do with it being quiet, tbh, I have so much to finish before SST!

Friday - in the office for a change, working until early afternoon then heading over to the SS Great Britain to meet wife and child.  They are probably less than a mile from me right now, window-shopping.  I've not seen the SS Great Britain since I was young, my grandfather took me there often as he was in the merchant navy during WW2 and had a special interest in old ships.

After that, I'll motorcycle out into the Mendip Hills and do around 5 miles walking, I need to save my legs as it's an hour's motorcycle ride home.

Tonight - cook a freezer pizza, catch up on some TC thread updates, and maybe tidy the workbench if there's time.

Saturday - last daddy/daughter day of the summer holidays.  No solid plans, might take her to the library for storytime, then possibly on to a softplay centre so she can bounce around while I eat junk food and maybe work on the novel on the laptop.  After that, very maybe take her to a local museum if she wants to do that, if not, head back home for some playtime and tidying.

Evening - cook a Spaghetti Bolognese for the family, mix my helping with some hot sauce and serve it over tortillas with sour cream and jalapenos, open a couple of beers and maybe stream a film.

Sunday - Workshop Sunday - last full day before SST.  Loads to do on the FJ40 (front and rear bumpers, rock sliders, and full electrics install at least), plus the trailer (finish the interior, make sure it's fully ready for the body to be prepped and painted in the week), plus loads of little odd jobs I've got on the list

Evening - another serving of Bolognese, although probably with less chillis and hot sauce as I need to be in the office 9am Monday

Have yourselves a great weekend wherever you are :)

Friday - Work at the moment, home, pizza for dinner with my son, walk my friend's dogs, then bed, as I have an early start!

Saturday - Heading to Bicester to Radwood, an 80's and 90's car show with Hotwheels Unleashed UK tour there, so hoping to see some cool cars, and probably spend too much money!

Sunday - Brands Hatch to the Porsche Festival, watch some racing, dream about owning a Porsche one-day, then home for a roast! Yum!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend whatever you're doing!

I have a pretty boring weekend again which is greatly appreciated!  Because for me, boring is best. B)

Friday.. I am taking a day off, so going to head to my buddy's hair salon to get my hair cut this morning, going to get my car washed at my local touchless wash place, then work on my Abarth body.  I am expecting a GR Supra Mini-Z body to come in today, so will play with it a bit to check fitment as I have another MR03EVO coming next week (blue limited edition this time).

After that, just relax in my music room, play some tunes, then stream a movie before calling it.

Saturday.. weather permitting, going to pull my Golf-R out for a nice weekend drive after early morning house chores.  Then finish up on the Abarth body and test drive it on my M-Four.  Then rest of day drive my Mini-Z's in my pretend pylon test course and pretty much a repeat of Friday afternoon/evening.

Sunday.. basically a repeat of Saturday

Monday..  we have labor day holiday so going to pull out my GR Supra for a nice morning drive weather permitting.  I have a few honey-do's to do so will work on that in the late morning, then probably just relax as per my usual afternoons.  My son is planning to grill up a nice steak in the late afternoon, so I'm looking forward to that.  :D

Have a great weekend everyone!  B)

Friday - this is what I did. Tested my new Hohem iSteady Pro4 gimbal.

Time elapse capture on Go Pro with motion elapse on the gimbal and inception mode.

The older one which was a Pro2 was ok but the newer Go Pros 9/10/11 won't fit. So I sold it and bought this current model. What's even nicer as you can also control the Go Pro with the gimbal. The previous models couldn't. Really happy with this one.

Hey peeps!  It's Friday again!  And it feels like it's been a long time coming...  Schools started again this week, so I'm back to the new morning routine of getting the child breakfast, groomed and cycled to school.  After a summer off, neither my patience nor my legs can handle it   So it would be nice to say I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend...

but...

Friday - WFH this morning, I've completely forgotten how I used to get all my hours in during term times, so I'll be finishing around 2:30 today, I think.  Then I'll have to load the van in the height of the heat, which I'm not looking forward to.  7 scale rigs plus trailer plus micro plus a big box of tools, plus food, drink (lots of water, it's going to be a hot one), and now the forecast has changed to rain on Sunday, I'll have to load up both warm-weather gear for Saturday and wet-weather gear for Sunday.  <_<

Tonight - hopefully get packed before it's too late and sit down for an alcohol-free beer and a rest.

Saturday - up early for some morning admin, then set off for the Southern Scale Trail.  It's only 35 minute away.  Stop en route to buy sausages and baps for the evening fry-up.

Then a whole long day in the quarry in 30 degree heat.  Follow along with the action on the Southern Scale Trail thread over in the 4x4 forum.

2pm - cry over a handful of raffle tickets that come up dry.  At least I don't blow 3 figures on tickets like some people, a token gesture is all I ever bother with.

5:30pm - trails close, head over to campsite to set up, cook up some sausages and get the batteries recharged for Sunday

7:30pm - strap on the head torch, turn on the truck LEDs, and join the night crawl while the sun goes down

9:30pm - sip a beer while enjoying the last of the day's warmth, then head to bed

Sunday - up in time for the forecast rain shower to cool off, bite of breakfast then back on the trails for another day's crawling

Pack up whenever I'm ready and make the long, painful 35 minute drive home, back in time to discharge the batteries, cook a pizza from the freezer and get some sleep before work on Monday

Wherever you are, have yourselves a great weekend :)

It was supposed to be a short week, but feels so frikken long due to headaches at work.. (not physical headache, just dealing with stupid situations and people associated to it).

Friday.. WFH.. besides a few emails and a meeting this pm, I hope it will be a quiet work day.  Already finished my early morning house chores, then had to send emails and text to my lawn contractor owner as their new kid apparently does not know how to mow a damp lawn cleanly..  he made a good sized mess in the middle of my front yard.   It's not permanent, but I don't pay them to make a mess.

Besides work, going to start decal-ing the MX5 body for my MB01 and try to relax.  In more exciting news, I am getting a decent batch of Mini-Z wheels today so I want to test fit a few on my GR Supra body.  I bought several styles, widths, and offsets so hopefully one of those combinations work on the car perfectly.. and my other RWD Mini-Z cars.  :D

Then relax in my music room, stream a movie before calling it.

Saturday.. weather permitting, going to pull out my Golf-R for a nice weekend morning run.  This is the final month of the driving season for me (well, at least for my Supra and Golf-R) and will be hibernated by end of the month.   I will continue driving my STI as it is my daily driver now that I am letting my kid use my WRX to go to college.

Will continue on with the MX5 body and perhaps finish and post pictures on instagram mid-afternoon.   #pretendRCshop

Then evenings are as usual, relax in my music room, stream a movie before calling it.  B)

Sunday.. basically a repeat of Saturday.

Have a great weekend, everyone!  B)

It's Friday again, team!  What are we all up to this weekend?

Should be a real quiet one for me, which is great, as things have been a bit too busy recently and it'll be nice to relax for a while.

Friday - WFH until 13:30 hundred hours PM this afternoon at lunchtime, should be a quiet morning working through some stuff with a little meeting before I finish.  I'm watching the full coverage of the Goodwood Revival in the background, I've got 3 days of youtube vids to get through so that'll keep me busy to the end of next week.  Right now the quali for the St Mary's Trophy is on, so my office is full of the buzzing sound of 50s Wolseleys, Austins and Jags and the deep thunder of a Ford Thunderbird.

This afternoon - desperately need to tidy my office, then start cleaning up the trucks from last weekend's SST and get them back on the self.

Then pick my daughter up from school, give her some dinner and take her to my parents in Bristol, then stop somewhere on the way home to get in a good walk.  Haven't decided where yet.

Still need to sort all the photos from last weekend, so maybe do that tonight with some zero-alcohol beers.

Saturday - probably get up early and tidy the workshop, it's well overdue but I've been ignoring it because I've been so busy with all the events.

My daughter will return sometime in the afternoon, so we'll find something to do together.

Probably watch a movie or maybe catch up on some streaming in the evening with some zero beers.

Sunday - Workshop Sunday - finish tidying if there's anything left to do, then start going through all the cars I want to run at the Tamiya Junkies meet in October and make sure they're all together and ready to run.  No point loading up the van with stuff that doesn't work.  Maybe consider a rebuild of Fifty-Fifty if there's time and if I've got enough FR4 sheet left over

Finish the weekend with some burgers and a couple of real beers

Have yourselves a good weekend, everybody :)

For me I want to wind down a bit as I have too many non-RC related projects going on around the house and need to take a break... but winter is coming so I need to start thinking about winterizing the house, the lawn, and get my oil changes on my cars done, bring out the snow blower (not this weekend, but soon), etc..  I still have some time since weather has been quite warm this Fall, but I am certain temps will suddenly nose dive in the coming weeks.

That said.. this weekend is somewhat a bunch of little projects around the house kind of weekend to get these small but annoying items out of the way.

Friday.. WFH.. I hope it is a quiet work day so that I can focus on my XM1 build during breaks.  Work on some minor repairs on the exterior of my house in the afternoon, order parts to finish the work, if I'm done early go out for a quick ride on my ebike.  Then drive my Mini-Z's.  Then relax in my music room and stream a movie before calling it.

Saturday.. weather permitting, going to take my Supra out for a nice weekend drive.  Depending on how much fuel left, I may do the last fill of the season with stabilizer and place her on flat stoppers (RaceRamp platforms to prevent flat spots on tires) and winterize the car.  It's still warm out, but I need to get this out of the way so that I can also winterize my Golf-R in the coming weeks and who knows when it might ran out my weekend mornings.   Then work on my XM1 build, organize 2 of my shelves in the basement storage, and then enjoy driving my Mini-Z's and relax in my music room, stream a movie.

Sunday.. weather permitting and if still ample fuel left, will go for the last drive of the season in my Supra and for certain fill with stabilizer to winterize her.  Then work on the XM1 build rest of day and basically a repeat of Saturday evening.

Have a great weekend, everyone!  B)

It's Friday again, peeps!  A little bit of normality resumed this week, with both wife and child out of the house, although a minor (and thankfully shortlived) headcold prevented me from having my usual weekly run into Bristol for the office visit, so I'm feeling pretty fed up with the inside of this house right now.  But still, Friday means the weekend is almost here, with the chance of some rest and relaxation!

Friday - WFH until 2pm, then to my own devices.  Wife is home today and can't decide what to do, so maybe we'll head out together for something.  Probably not, though - I expect I'll take my usual walk alone this afternoon.  Considering charging some 3S packs and taking a truck with me, I don't usually but I've recently joined a Facebook group dedicated to hillwalking with RC cars, so I feel I should give it a try.

Home in time for a pizza and some alcohol-free beers and some relaxation in the studio before bed.

Saturday - daddy/daughter day.  No solid plans, she's asked to go to a big softplay place in the next town over, but I just found out she was there last night for a birthday party.  Still, they have a comfortable seating area for the grown-ups and a pretty good cafe that does proper meals, and I'm always happy if you give me a cheap cheeseburger and fries.

Maybe cook some crispy cakes in the afternoon.

Evening - cook a curry (from a jar) and maybe stream a film while I sip some more zero-alcohol beers.

Sunday - Workshop Sunday.  I've got 3 more Sundays until the next Tamiya Junkies meet, and one additional Sunday until the Scaler Nationals.  There's not really much on the list, but I need to sort or swap the motor on Big 6 as it was cutting out at the SST.  Also the fresh oil arrived today to service the bike, plus the van is long overdue to.  Weather-dependent, it might be time for oil changes.

Evening - throw a few extra chillies in my reheated curry and open some proper alcoholic beverages for the end-of-weekend studio session.

Whatever you're doing, I hope you all have a great weekend :)

Friday is finally here.. was such a crazy week it felt like it was only 3 days.. I went to the office for my money making gig on Monday but feels like a very long time ago.

Friday..  WFH... I already completed my early morning house chores and a few house maintenance items, and should be a quiet work day today.   I plan on finish up the MB01 #2 and go for a quick spin in my STI since I haven't driven the car in like a month now.

Then afternoon going to just relax and take a break from RC building and enjoy my time in the pretendRCshop and maybe drive my Mini-Z's a bit.  B)

Evenings are the usual relax in my music room, stream a movie before calling it.

Saturday.. my weekend drive got postponed last weekend due to rain both days so hopefully I will get to drive my GR Supra tomorrow for a nice weekend morning drive.  I need to hibernate the car pretty soon so will decide whether to do that tomorrow or go for another round on Sunday.. really depends on the weather.  Temps are still fairly warm this Fall so no big rush, but I have a list of things to do to winterize the house and cars so its that time of year where I want to just wrap things up on my own terms.

Afternoon I might decide to start the street version Sand Scorcher build..   not sure yet.

I would like to go for a quick ride on my ebike as well.

Sunday.. basically a repeat of Saturday.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Friday - Usual slog of work, home for a pizza, then walking 2 dogs with my friend. Work has been a total pain of late, we have a VW Audit on Monday so everything has to be as close to perfect as possible. We'll probably still fail though!

Saturday - Work early am until 1pm. Drive down to pick up my son and drop some stuff I've accumulated from work at the container, then no idea whet we're doing. Maybe go Hotwheels shopping somewhere!

Sunday - Brands Hatch for the Go Japan! festival. Drifting, time attack, Honda Cup, JDM cars! Even for a total VW nut like me, this is going to be heaven! What's not to like about JDM cars with silly BHP!

Hope y'all have a great weekend!

It's Friday again!  How are we all feeling this fine weekend?

I hope I'm on the mend - I've had a nasty cough for a few days which has put a dampener on things, so still not 100% sure what this weekend will involve, but hopefully I'll continue to improve and at least get some enjoyment out of it.

So, what have we got planned?

Friday - wfh until around 2pm, been a bit crazy already with morning meetings and an urgent problem to resolve, need to have more calls than I really like but at least it's getting handled now.

Afternoon - forecast has changed from wet to dry, so probably a good night to go for a walk.  I might take a truck with me, if so I need to get charging the batteries now.

Home late for pizza and beers, I might shift my full-alcohol beverage night to tonight because work on Monday could be pretty chaotic.  But it depends how I'm feeling, I'm not sure alcohol + cough medicine before bed is a good idea.

Saturday - daddy/daughter day.  She mentioned something about wanting to practice with her Element Enduro, but she often changes her mind once it's time to actually go out and do it.  She also seems keen on the idea of lying on the sofa and watching Book Of Life, which I haven't properly seen all the way through yet.  So, hopefully we'll do that.

Cooking a sausage casserole in the evening, to my own recipe.  By own recipe, I mean, I'm just going to make it up as I go along.

Evening - I've had a few lazy evenings watching TV this week, so hopefully I'll feel motivated enough to go in the studio.

Sunday - Workshop Sunday.  2 Workshop Sundays left before Tamiya Junkies (assuming I don't have any more financial setbacks and my wife doesn't catch this cough just in time to be bedridden on Junkies weekend) - not got any solid plans but I've got a whole fleet of cars that need to be set up on my new FlySky radio.  Now is a good opportunity to review the setup and make sure everything is right.  Not exactly a fun way to work on cars, but it needs to be done.

Also I haven't touched the King Blackfoot for a long time, and Junkies is a great place to run it, so I should maybe have a look at that.  I wasn't happy with my front-end mods, maybe I can graft some parts on from a different car - it's all up for review on Sunday!

Evening - reheated casserole and some studio time.

Have yourselves a fabulous weekend, whatever you're doing :)

For me, I am off today, so a nice 3 day relaxing weekend coming up.  I'm going to step away from RC building a bit this weekend to rest a little.  I noticed my eyes are tired and need to focus on different things.

Friday.. I already finished my early am house chores, heading to my buddy's hair salon in a little bit to get my hair cut.  Then need to do some monthly cleaning on my shower room door gasket, then swap sump pipe outlet joint on my house.

I am expecting new m-chassis 55D tires to arrive today so will trial those on my pretend pylon test course.. if all goes well I will order more, but I've already jumped the gun (with hope..) and ordered over 20 pairs already.. I am down to the last 28 packs of my PitShimizu's so need to get my stock back to 50+.  One might think that's a crazy amount of tires, but then when you have over 15 m-chassis and drive them, they do not last very long... maybe a few years at best.  Unless someone knows something I don't know, I plan to be around longer than a few more years.

Then might take my e-bike out for a nice relaxing ride around the neighborhood ..

Saturday.. weather permitting, going to take my Golf-R for a nice weekend drive.  I will fuel up after the drive, but I think I can get another tank worth of driving this season so will hibernate the car well into October.   I'm going to be doing oil changes on my WRX and Forester and maybe drive my outdoor Kyosho Beetle a bit after the work.  :D

My wife bought this beautiful sketch from her professional artist friend in Japan and if she's up for it, will help her mount it on the wall.   The thing weights like 25lbs? with the frame so I want to ideally find a stud in the wall to anchor or use the proper drywall anchors.

Then my usual evenings.. relax in music room, watch TV or stream movie before calling it.

Sunday.. weather permitting going to drive my Golf-R again, detail her after the drive.  Then maybe go ride my ebike in the afternoon and take it easy.

Have a great weekend, everyone!  B)

Not posted for a while!

Been a few hectic few months/weeks, my folks are in their mid 80's, so trying to get down south as much as I can to visit, and help with the odd jobs etc, the usual stuff like, changing the brushes in my dads table top mini lathe motor, as he can't really get in the garage onto his Myford since his stroke, and keep his mind ticking. The kids enjoyed Blackpool last weekend, with the illuminations, and visiting the Windwill etc. (Although the Lytham Windmill looks prettier, the one at Little Marton in Blackpool is better imo, as its less restored ,with open gears and original 'mind your head' stair cases).

My 3 day weekend, before the onslaught of long shifts, so tried to tick a few jobs off, after dropping the kids off at school.

To change a hall light would be a half hour/hour job, then i could get in the garage for a few hours, but no, removed the light, to not only find that whoever painted the ceiling, didn't take the light off to paint, but they'd not taken it off when giving it a skim of plaster either, plus I'm sure whoever fitted it, tried to hammer screws in, as the ceiling was full of holes! So off the B&Q for some filler. Already had paint though, which helps. By the time I'd finished, it was time to walk around and pick the kids up, in the heavy rain ,naturally....

Tomorrow, well later... I'm wanting to check the fluids on the daily, she's done a few thousand miles the past few months, although sitting on a motorway for 5 hours in each direction isn't that hard on a diesel engine, probably still a good idea ,plus empty the boot /spare wheel well, remove the child seats and see what surprises they've left for me.. I really want to try and get the brake/clutch fluid changed, and throw in some ATE super I've sat on the shelf, but should have been a summer job, whenever summer was..

Sunday, my plan is to get in the garage, and try and get more wiring done on the 1:1, it takes me a while to get back into the groove with the wiring, but hoping I get long enough between the , DAD DAD DAD, and 'any chance you can you just' jobs...There's no F1 this weekend, so slip back into the garage after the kids go to bed, I'm nightshift Monday, so my wife let's me have a long lie.

Enjoy your weekends! 👍

On the topic of spending a weekend with the folks, last weekend i drove up to my moms summer house to help out with some repainting, replacing some roof tiles, putting back a window they removed a couple of years back and having the maiden drive of the Blackfoot she and her dude gave me for christmas last year, also brought the wltoys 12427 i found in the trash and put a beetle shell on. Had some good fun racing around some cones with her dude.

This friday i just took it easy.

Today there is supposed to be dumpster placed close by so im intending to throw out some stuff, been stacking delivery boxes in a corner and have some broken electronics that i havnt been ******* to go to the dump with yet.

No idea what tomorrow will bring but most likely i will just take it easy.
