So Friday went and here I am on Saturday.

The kids are away,  so me and wifey are alone home. Today we're going indian cousine after a heavy shopping round.

Tomorrow I plan on starting painting the livingrooms and fill up the trailer again with trash. I am a bit back on it by now,  since the backyard has not been accessible the last weeks.

Have a nice weekend.

Here is Sunday and the time scedule goes pants. Here I am at the vet after this little guy chose to eat laundry as a pre breakfast. He is OK now, but this destroyed most of the plans for today.

@Andreas W Too bad about the doggie ... our borrow-dog has the habit of eating paper napkins whenever he happens to find them. But laundry? That's a step above. :)

Sometimes I wonder if there is any point in making any plans - my own ideas about the weekend also fell flat. But hey, there's always another weekend ... :D

Hehe. I think it's maybe a male dog thing. The last I had before (also a lab) was just as bad. He once ate my daughters slippers with suede soles. Then he had to undergo a surgery. Was happy to have a good ensurance.

I have had one or two labs around me since 1984 and none of them have been anywhere near as bad about this as my last two- even though my first once ate a Pluto beep dog toy when I visited my mother. Probably to secure that my mothers dog not could have it :D

Carson Paint Killer on a contraband cotton swab, a nice firm rub parallel to the masking line usually tidies it up nicely

Best advice EVER! This stuff is amazing! Saved my completely bodged spraying of the Audi V8 shell. I got impatient and sprayed WAYYYYYY to much in one go, totally forgetting the whole 'spray in several light coats to get desired effect' part, I had paint runs everywhere and it looked terrible. But this stuff saved the day! Mad Ax, you sir are a LEGEND!!

Friday again. The week has just rushet away.

The weather has been fine, so I have clocked around 3 hours in all of healthy postal racing with the Tomahawk. It's nice to revitalize the interest for a car, that has been ran too little the last years.

Today I hope the plumber gets finished with the bathroom upstairs. Then I think I'll test the bathtub, if not someone else already has done it and emptied the boiler.

Tomorrow there is a full day of mandatory but not paid annual first aid course. I don't like working for free,  but with the flexibility I have there is no reason to cry too much, so all fine.

On Sunday we are gonna start putting the plants, trees and bushes that were temporarily moved for the building of the garage and stone wall in the garden. That's a big job and it's not nearly done in one weekend.

Have a nice weekend everyone B)

Happy Friday, everyone :)

A busy weekend for me here.

Friday - this morning I'm in the office after a work night out yesterday, I've got a 2 hour motorcycle ride home soon.

Work until mid-afternoon then taking daughter to mother-in-law for the weekend.  MiL has been estranged for over a year after a family feud, so I hope it goes well.

Hopefully have time for a short walk on the way home, then a quiet night in.

Saturday - first child-free weekend for as long as I can remember, so the wife and I are going to the coast for the day.  The weather this week has been fabulous but rain is forecast tomorrow so we might have to find some weather-cover options.  I need to be home in time to pack up for Sunday.

Sunday - practice round of the new BRCA Sportscar Endurance championship at Cotswold Model Car Club.  3 hours of open practice, followed by an hour-long quali session, then a 2 hour race.  Excited, but nervous.  Weather is changeable.

Possibly have time for a walk after the event is over, depending on weather and finish time.

Have a great weekend everyone :)

Rough week which involved going to that there London for an absolutely pointless trade show.
Friday: Pub. It’s been a while since I was out so that’ll be nice

Saturday: I’ve got to get rid of all the garden waste but apart from that I’m not sure. A full day to myself! Weather looks pretty good so I could get some painting done. Although I’m more likely to just stare at the Optima body paralysed by the possibilities.

Sunday: Breakfast and The Archers in the morning, obviously. Then gardening. I hosted gardening with a passion but it’s got to look good this year because we might be selling up.

Have a great weekend everyone!

It's Friday again. This week has been really stressful with loads of stuff going on related to the school and kids. Only positive, so nothing dramatical,  but something has happened almost every afternoon/evening.

Today nothing happens, so if I am able to leave early I would make the second and last attempt on the current Endurance Postal Racing course. This time with the Carten. I changed the damaged spur and rear drivecup for the propshaft yesterday and fitted a new pinion,  so it should be back again now.

Tomorrow the whole family is going out on a restaurant, so that's gonna be nice. This is the first time we are out alltogether for a while.

On Sunday it's gonna be more demolishing for me. Now the bathroom on the ground floor and the room next to it is up. If it's any time left it's plenty of gardening to do.

Have a nice weekend, folks.

It's Friday again, peeps!  What are we all up to?

It's a reasonably quiet one for me, which is as well as things are going to get crazy over the next few months.

Friday - work from home until around 4:30.  Late finish this week as I had to take my daughter to the dentist on Monday, which ate into my extra hours.

Probably chill out in the workshop ticking off some little items, cook a pizza and maybe think about relaxing in the studio for the end of the night.  Failing that, finish watching the film that I fell asleep in front of last weekend.

Saturday - spend the day with my daughter.  She asked if we could go for a walk in the woods, but she might have changed her mind already.

Go into town to buy a Mother's Day present after lunch, then meeting my wife in a café to have a nearly Mother's Day hot chocolate and slice of cake.

Cook a Bolognese in the evening and probably stream a film.

Sunday - up earlier than early due to the clock change, drive an hour into the countryside for the Southern Scale Trail Pay & Play Day.  This is an open scale event in a disused quarry.  I don't think there are any official trails to follow, but there's loads of terrain to have fun in (the official Southern Scale Trail event runs here with multiple trails in September every year).  My local crawling buddy is busy, but I'm sure I'll make some trail buddies while I'm out in the woods.

I'll probably stop for a long walk somewhere on the way back, although if I'm going somewhere new I probably won't take the hillwalking truck.  That's a shame, as it could do with a long run after the recent round of updates before it gets torn down for paint.

Chill out in the evening and upload my day's photos.

Have a great weekend, everyone :)

I spent most of the week holed up at the hospital with Junior, since he needed to stay for observation. So-so food, crappy internet and a hard bed made for an excercise in stoicism.

Weekend will be a mix of gardening and hoping for warm and sunny weather so that I can get something painted or something else done, RC-wise.

Have a great weekend, people!

It's Friday again and anothers wekend already now packed with work.

I worked yesterday evening to free off time to go to a shop in a rurale area. Next week the masoner would put in the windows in my mini barn/garage/mancave. Years ago I got iron windows with curved top, like most barns here in Norway had. Now I need to grind off the rust and paint it with two layers of linseed varnish. It's gonna look so cool and like something that has been there forever.

I am also working with demolishing the bathroom at the ground floor. I have come so far that I "only" have to remove the tiles and the concrete floor. Luckily I have borrowed a Hilti, so it's not that bad.

If there's time spare I probably have 3 loads of wood for the dump. There's probably 2 loads of garden waste as well, but that’ll be for a weekday evening. I don't wana go through the pain it is going to the dump site on a Saturday.

Have a nice weekend B)

Friday again (again) ...

Sunny weather today, with sun and possibly gardening coming up during the weekend.

I am hoping I can get Junior to actually get outside, instead of hanging around in the sofa, in front of a screen. Maybe we'll even get to see some Junior RC action, who knows? :)

As for other RC news, I haven't gotten very far with the Grasshopper II project, but maybe I can rebuild the gearbox if there is some spare time inbetween the usual weekend chores.

Have a great weekend, all of you! :)

Friday again. The week flies away.

Last weekend we got a site for our caravan,  so I rushed up in Telemark to take it out of winter storage. On Sunday we are parking it at the site. It's a lovely place on the 2nd row at the beach (so we don't have to be the windbreaker in the front). We are no stationary campers, so we wanted a site near the beach where we (relatively) easy can get the caravan in and out when we want to travel. The thought is to use it as a cottage or beach house instead of just having it parked in the driveway doing nothing.

I have been watching loads of vids from Dario lately,  so I am heavily influenced by the rally thing ATM. I'm enjoying the two XV-01 and the XV-02 on MST LTX. It's going quite well as long as I am stationary. When I am running behind the ground better have to be really even

The mini barn is also coming to shape and looks like something that has been there forever. I love it.

Have a nice one,  guys.

It's Friday at last!  I say at last - I've only done 1.5 days at work this week.  2 days off on Mon and Tues, we went to Instow in Devon to celebrate our 10 year anniversary, had glorious weather and finally felt warm for the first time since October.

I worked at the office on Weds and Thurs, so had a night to myself in a hotel, but was feeling very ill on Weds so I wasn't able to enjoy it.  Turns out I have an infection in my gum, so I'm on antibiotics now and starting to feel better.

I booked today and Monday off work so I can look after our daughter during the Easter holidays, but as my wife is not currently working she will be free to spend time with us also.

So...

Friday - going to do an Easter Egg hunt at a National Trust house today.  This is the same place where we got married 10 years ago so it feels appropriate.

Back home for the afternoon, probably relax and watch a movie or play video games with my daughter until bedtime.

Also a few chores and packing for tomorrow.

Saturday - a lazy morning at home, then set off for Stafford for the first round of the BRCA Sportscar Endurance championship.  We have open practice all day, so we need to learn the track, tune the car setup, and maybe practice some long runs to learn how our tyres will wear.  Stafford can be heavy on tyres if you go off life.

Evening - antibiotics prevent alcohol consumption, so I'll have some no-beer beers while we all chill out and pass the time at the track.  Would be nice if we get a good sunset.

Sunday - 90 minutes open practice, then a 1 hour qualifying session (each driver gets a 5 minute staggered start quali run) and then a 4 hour race.  We haven't worked out our pit stop strategy yet, but all drivers need to do approximately the same drivetime, so 3 x 20 minute stints each probably makes the most sense.  Although that makes 11 pit stops, and if other teams can run longer and do less stops, they will lose less time.

2.5 hour drive home in the evening for some beer-free-beers and a pizza.

Monday - another day off work for childcare, hopefully my daughter will be looking forward to a nice relaxing day on the sofa because I'll be exhausted.  Maybe raining here so probably not do anything outdoors.

Take daughter to grandparents on Monday eve, then back home for a quiet night in with the wife.

Back to work on Tuesday - 2 days in the office again so it's another night away in a hotel.

Have a great weekend everyone :)

Friday again (again) ...

I actually spent about three minutes doing RC stuff this week - a noticeable improvement! But for the weekend, I guess it is a bit of schlepping called for - the garden furniture should moved outside. It's nice when it is set up, but I never look forward to the moving/building bit.

Apart from that, it's now Easter holidays, so that means the whole family is at home at the same time all day long - we'll see how that goes. :D

Perhaps the weather stays good, then I can get some painting done (have a few bodies waiting). Need to relax, tool around - a bit exhausted from the daily crunch.

@Andreas W - the barn looks good, but you'll need a bit o' rustic charm to the outside walls. And a pipesmoking grandpa fisherman sitting on a bench outside, mending nets wouldn't go amiss either. :) Love the windows.

@Mad Ax - 4 hour endurance race ... I guess you've done your excercises regularly, the extra pushups, the 10 mile running? :D Sounds like an adventure, indeed.

Hehe. Just turned 50, so that should count as a "Opa". No pipe smoking (or smoking for that matter), no nets either, but maybe syncronizing the Weber DCOE carbs on the Golf 1 16V with the Gunson tool will do as well B)

It's Fri...  er, Thursday!  A long Bank Holiday weekend here, which means the long run of sunny weather is going to end and we can look forward to 4 days of cold and rain.

Should be a fun one here at Chez Ax, as we have various different fun activities planned.

Thur - work from home until around 5:30, then straight into cooking dinner for the family.

Quiet night in with the wife, catch up on some TV.

Fri - spend the day with my daughter.  Planning on visiting some family but waiting a response to see if they are home.

Hopefully home in time to play video games before making dinner, and get the batteries charging for the big rigs.

Sat - lazy start, then off to Swindon for an RC truck meet.  I haven't been RC trucking in what feels like a lifetime, but a mate is going along so it's an excuse to get away for a while.

Probably take the laptop so I can actually fine-tune all the gripes with the Beier in the Globe Liner while at the layout, instead of always writing out a gripe sheet and never getting it updated when I get home.

I might take the hillwalking truck to display, and will probably stop for a long walk on the way home.

Sun - Workshop Sunday.  I've got a few short jobs to do on the scalers in prep for the Scaler Nationals in 2 weeks time, then I'll probably turn my attention to the F150 Baja and try to finish all the little bits ready for Club 380.  There's still a very outside chance that I might ride to next week's Club 380 meet on the motorcycle, so this is possibly my last Workshop Sunday for a while.

Mon - taking my daughter and dad to Castle Combe to watch the motor racing.  Weather forecast isn't great but I don't know if it's still possible to park on the bank outside Tower, where we could sit comfortably in the van and watch the racing without getting wet.  I might aim to arrive early just in case we can.  I guess I have to buy an umbrella as a backup!

Have a great weekend everyone :)

Also here the nice weather has come to an end. I need to do a few Jobs on the daily before MOT, so I'll use the little time in no rain I get to that. Otherwise it's plenty of other stuff to do: Paint the living rooms while raining and move trees and plante back to their home outside. I was away with one two trailer loads of trash on Tuesday (and done one on Monday), so now it's time ti build up a load with cut offs from the garden.

Tomorrow we are grilling with friends and on Saturday we are going to Sweden, just for the trip and to fill up the storage of meat and cheese again.

Have a great and pleasant easter everyone.

Garage clearout for me tomorrow.  We usually do it once a year but missed last year so it's a right mess    Trips to the tip incoming (don't you just love a tip trip?).

Saturday I'm heading down to Silverstone to watch a mate who's racing while Mrs Twinfan visits her mum.  So some time for me and my love of 1:1 car racing.

Sunday is a house Spring Clean day for the two of us I think.  My office is thick in dust, as is a lot of the house after having a new kitchen fitted recently.

Monday is likely a trip to Donington Park to watch a different mate racing, especially if Mrs Twinfan is out for the day again (which she may be).  If not, it could be a day for both of us in the garden.

Have a great one, everyone!

Aah, you Norsemen raiding the foodstores!  - is it Strömstad then?

Me, I am slowly trying to get through the long slog of days, hoping for some sun to get some RC painting done. One of these days, I am going to go fruitbat crazy and buy me a Fat Fox body to keep me occupied with cutting and painting and stickering ... :D

Have a nice weekend, everyone!

Haven't posted on here in a good while, as all my time off has been up and down the road to get time with my ill dad.

Today I've been and got a brand new suit, and now the daunting task of writing his eulogy.

Got my 50th to look forward to on Monday!!

But its my long weekend on, will need to settle for meeting the rest of my family after work for a nice meal .

Should have more time though, and there's an Avante 2011 peaking around the corner at me..😏

Sorry about your dad, @Wooders28.

A mixed bag all that I would assume, with your 50th coming up ... - but cheers to that one!

And here's to that Avante, just to keep the spirits up. :)

Oh yes, sure it is. We are not the biggest in this though. We live a bit too far away, so this is not something we do systematicly. But I get what you mean. It's sometimes comical to see how much soft drinks can be put into a pasienter car.

That said the swedes are even worse, when I think about Volvo station wagons loaded to the roof with beer when they leave Puttgarden

Today I went to the in-laws for some fish & chips. On the way back we saw a huge hole in the wall near the local graveyard, some coked up drunken moron has slammed their Transit into it late last night/early hours of the morning.  The absolute douchebag was lifted at the scene so it is bye bye licence and another idiot off the roads.

Saturday: As long as it is dry it will be a bashing day, 3 lipos should do the trick. Monster Beetle will get a run out and so will the Gorgon. Hamsterley Forest is the destination with a couple of friends. I will likely get a kebab on the way back.

Sunday: I have a fence to paint, then tidy the man cave.

Have fun whatever you get up to guys. :)
