Happy Friday, team!  What are we all up to?

Reasonably quiet one for me, but I'm still on the fence as to what I should fill my days with.

Friday - working until 2pm, then probably spend the afternoon in the workshop.  Local club racing has resumed, and I promised myself I would get along at the earliest opportunity as my Mi-8 has literally done one heat since I bought it in January, but, well, I guess I'd rather be outside on a nice evening and have a quiet, relaxing one at home.  It's also our 10-year anniversary so perhaps we might relax and watch a film together.

I might start converting the FJ40 trail truck into a proper hillwalking rig with its own Arduino installation, so I've got something to go walking with when the Scania is out of action.  As well as installing a prototype Arduino and reconfiguring the radio to PPM mode, I'll also have to make a towbar and battery extension leads so I can carry a full consignment of batteries in the trailer.

Saturday - as yet unplanned.  The default option is to have Workshop Saturday and spend all day working on stuff.  All the trucks are ready for the Scaler Nationals next weekend, but I still need to finish the sump guard and sort out the body posts on the F150 Baja before my visit to Club 380 at the end of May.  But I still have 3 clear weekends between now and then, so...

2nd option is to complete the FJ40 prototype conversion to hillwalking rig, then take it for a test-walk in the local hills.  That sounds like fun.

3rd option is to jump on the motorcycle and ride to the coast for the day, as the weather is supposed to be good.  Part of me feels like getting away and seeing somewhere different, although I have to balance out the fuel and food cost as I'm trying to save up for stuff this year.

Sunday - wife's birthday, although she has declined the offer of spending the day with me and daughter, so she will find her own way to celebrate while we go visit family for a meal.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

This is gonna be another busy weekend.

The carpenters are starting on the bathroom on the ground floor on Monday,  so I am gonna finish the demolition there. Thus is heavy work carrying out the concrete from the floor I have demolished earlier.

On Monday I am picking up a new daily (Skoda Citigo e, to remind me of the VW Lupo we had earlier - the somewhatmodern Golf MK1), so I need to do some paperwork beforehand; insurance and reg the transponder for the road toll on the new car.

It's also time to check and send in the annual tax report.

The weather is lovely, but I'm stuck inside.

Have a great weekend.

It's Friday again!  What is everyone up to this weekend?

I'm a little late to the party as I was packing this morning, then school run and commute through (surprisingly light) traffic to the office.

Friday - work until 2pm, then setting off on the 2-3 hour drive to the midlands.  If I get there early enough (depending on sunny weekend Friday traffic) I might stop for a walk at the Attenborough Nature Reserve, or maybe at some other local nature spot on the way, but will probably just go straight to the hotel as I expect the roads to be busy.

Tonight - charge the batteries in the hotel room while I catch up on some side-hustle work, then down to the restaurant for a meal while I work on my laptop.

Saturday - up early for breakfast, then off to the UK Scaler Nationals for a whole day of scaling and trailing in the hills.  I've got 3 capable class 2 rigs, one scale class 2 trail rig which can tow the trailer, and the class 1 rig with the hillwalking Arduino installed, which might be very nice on the new scale trail that they are running this year.

I hope to complete all the courses with at least one truck, but almost certainly won't have time to do all the courses with all the trucks.

Back to the hotel in time for a meal in the restaurant.

Sunday - up early for another day on the trails.  Will run any rig that didn't get run on Saturday, and see how much completion I can manage.

The event will probably run late on Sunday because it's carrying over into Bank Holiday Monday, but I'll be leaving before sunset for the 3+ hour drive home.

I'd love to be back in time for a pizza-from-the-freezer and a couple of beers before bedtime.

Monday - Bank Holiday, so will spend the day chilling out with my daughter.  After a weekend of chilling out at home she will probably be ready for an adventure - I don't have anything planned but maybe we can go to the woods for a walk, then chill out and play video games all afternoon.

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend :)

A little less stressy this weekend.

Today: Change for summer wheels on the family beater. After that a heavy round of shopping on div builder shops to get all I need to make the fundament for the terrace on the camping site tomorrow. Just now that the wife is away I'll blow the trusty M-05 clean and rotate the wheels after an extensive run of postal racing yesterday.

Tomorrow: Full day on the camping site. Level up the fundament for the terrace. We have bought 3 sections terrace second hand (wife's idea. I prefer to build from the ground up,  but of course a ton cheaper this way- and harder on my body), so sometime next week I'll have to figure out a solution to move them.

Have a great,  long weekend everyone.

It's Friday again!  What are we all doing this weekend?

A little bit out of the ordinary for me, but nothing too special.

Friday - work until 2-3pm, then heading over to see some old work colleagues in Woking.  That's about a 4 hour round trip, and I'm trying to save cash so I'll probably ride the motorcycle.  Forecast is warm and dry, so should be a nice ride there, but the journey home is likely to be chilly.

Saturday - spend the day with my daughter.  She's asked if we can go for a walk in the woods, which might be fun, but I expect mostly I'll be tidying, some household maintenance and video games.

Sunday - my nieces have a joint birthday party at a restaurant in Gloucestershire, so it's another 2+ hour round trip, but it should be a fun opportunity to catch up with family and I'm sure it'll be a fantastic meal.

I'm hoping to have time for a few quick RC jobs in the workshop before we leave - it would be great if I can get my trailer chassis filed down so it doesn't catch on everything - and I will get my batteries charged so I can go for a walk as soon as we get back.  My walking holiday is just over 2 weeks away, so I need to keep my fitness up.

Have a great weekend everybody, catch you on the flipside.

Enjoy - sounds like a busy but fun one!

I'm going to go for one of my regular swims after work, then I'll switch the cars round on the drive before cooking a That green curry.

Saturday I'm up and out early to head over to Anglesey to watch some friends of mine racing at Trac Môn.  The weather looks great so it'll be a fabulous drive there and back, and fingers crossed the guys can get some good results in their two races.  I'll be back late, so a quick bit of food with Mrs Twinfan then I'll watch the MotoGP qualifying and Sprint from Le Mans.

Sunday I've got a regular sports massage in the morning (to combat an arthritic condition I have) then I'll probably wash my car before lunch.  In the afternoon I'm planning on making a start on my Super Astute build before spending the evening watching the BTCC from Brands Hatch and the MotoGP races from Le Mans.

Roll on 4:30pm so I can get started on that little lot!

@Mad Ax. That's a busy weekend and a lot of driving. May the weather be with you :)

Our daughter had birthday on Tuesday (and the dog on Monday), so Sunday we are having a family birthday in the building chaos. This means Saturday is full booket with cleaning, tidying and bading of the ultra dirty dog. I'm gonna put up the big tent on the fundament for the garage,  since the livingrooms are full of materials and I am in the middle of taking up the old flooring,  to come down to the original pinewood floor. Luckily there is only one layer of flooring here. In the ground floor bathroom there were 4 layers of floor heating cables...

Sunday is birthday party 'till the bitter end.

Today I am gonna run the M-08 Escort in the current Postal Racing round. The Shimizus rear are fully shot,  so I am trying out some other tyres I have lying around, to try utilizing what I have. To finish off the pack and have some fun I have also brought the XV-02, so I also can completely finish the Ride slicks from last year.

The weather is nice,  so it's slowly time for painting a few shells I have prepared during the winter.

Have a great one.

It's Friday again (again) ...

Well, sounds like the lot of you Friday regulars are up to a bunch of stuff! :)

Me, I am pottering around in the garden, trying to look busy (not that hard, there's always something you see that needs to be weeded or tended to; I don't think I have the right mindset for gardening - it's looks like ten years' worth of work every time I even look outside).

Tomorrow, Saturday is shopping round and then Junior has a friend coming over, so I guess we'll be busy with trying to keep them from tearing the place down. :D

Sunday is lazy day ... or well, no - it's Mothers' Day, so I'll be up before the sun gets out of bed, fetching cake and whatnot for breakfast. Then I guess the day will pass in a blink of an eye.

Perhaps I can get a screwdriver out and replace some bits on the second CR-01 axle, just to get something meaningful done, RC-wise.

Have a good one, people, dogs and cats!

Didnt actually get anything - its more of a showroom with a service desk than a shop so had a quick look around before heading back into Leeds to meet some friends then back onto the A1.

The town of Otley was really nice!

Been meaning to get to Otley Modelsport for the last 40yrs!!

Yeah, mate called in when he was down that way, and compared it to Argos, not really the plethora of models he (we?) had in his head, guessing online is where its at these days.

It's Friday again!  What's everyone up to?

Friday - work until around 2pm, then do some housework and DIY and generally tidy up before fetching my daughter from school at 5pm.

Quiet night in, pizza and some beers, maybe stream a film.

Saturday - wife is working all day (her first Saturday shift!), so spend the morning with my daughter.  She's going to the cinema with some friends in the afternoon so I've got some time to myself, probably do some more tidying and DIY.

It's a mate's 40th birthday in the evening, so as soon as the wife gets back I'll be throwing on my party clothes (no, wait, I don't own any, I'll wear the same RC T-shirts and ripped jeans that I always wear) and walk into town for some beers.

Sunday - Workshop Sunday.  My main goal is to get the sump guard fitted properly on the F150 Baja Racer, but the body mounts also need investigating and the shocks aren't quite right either.  So it could turn into a much longer project than first planned.

I really must get out for a walk in the afternoon.  Last week's plan for an 8+ miler was halted by getting involved in someone else's accident, but I've got just over a week until my walking holiday begins and I've had almost no practice walks recently.

Maybe I'll ride out to the Mendips to do one of my favourite routes there.

Have a great weekend everybody :)

Huhey. Friday again.

Today: Going home from work right now. Test the M-08 with the new Team Powers tyres on the way home. In the evening I'll iron the short for my national costume.

Saturday: The National day here in Norway. This year is the first in many years where we have no obligations, so we will just enjoy the day, watch the kids in the parades, doing sack- and potato-racing and eat loads of icecream.

Sunday: Probably go to the camping site and enjoy a laid back day on the beach.

Have a nice weekend everyone.

@Andreas W Aah, syttende mai! Even for a Swede living in Norway back then, it felt like a big, wonderful day.

So, it's Friday again (again) ...

Too much stuff going on during the week, too much going on during the weekend (birthday celebration, the dreaded Sunday Dinner etc) ... I just need a break.

Preferably with a screwdriver, some coffee and something to build or rebuild.

If the weather is good, maybe Junior and I can get out for a drive-around with the Schrott Buggy.

Have a great weekend, folks!

It's Friday again, team!  What are we all up to this weekend?

It's a fairly quiet one for me, but technically my weekend lasts until 2nd June, so it's a long one, too.

Friday - work until 2ish, then get a few things done around the house before I head out for a walk this evening.  I can't decide if I'll stay local or drive out somewhere new.  Weather looks good, so it's really down to how I feel later.

Saturday - quiet day in.  I want to do a big tidy on the house as it's been neglected recently.  Spend time with my daughter, probably play on the old Xbox 360.  Might pop into the used game store to see if there are any other family-friendly 360 games we can play, as most of what I have is way too grown up for an 8yo girl.

Probably chill out with a film in the evening.

Sunday - ostensibly it's Workshop Sunday, although all my tools are already packed in the hauler.  My main plan is to clean out the van and get it partially packed, then tidy up the workshop.

After that I might continue on one of my many projects, or maybe go out on the motorcycle somewhere.

Monday - taking my daughter and meeting Dad Ax at Castle Combe to watch some club-level motor racing.  Mostly saloon cars but sometimes there are some open wheel classes.  Fingers crossed on the weather.

Then back home for final packing and relaxing.

Tuesday - heading off to the Peak District for a few days.  Plenty of walks planned around the hills, working on my novel and generally chilling out.  Fingers crossed again on the weather.

Saturday - check out of the hotel, stop off for a relaxing walk, then off to BMR for round 2 of the Club 380 meet.

Home in time for a late takeaway and some beers before bed.

Have a great weekend everyone :)

Which year are we talking about, then? :D

Friday again (again) ...

Not much going on this weekend - might fiddle a bit with the 380 Schrott Racer (cable management and driver position) during the next few days.

Hoping for some good weather, and very slightly warmer, please.

Have a great one, people, dogs and cats!

This weekend mainly two things happen for me.

1) Paint the second livingroom and extension.

2) Our daughters birthday party tomorrow. It's gonna be a bake off- inspired party, where the girls are baking their own cakes before feasting. We had a similar solution last year, where they made their own mini pizzen, before I baked them in the pizza oven. I great success we hope to copy somewhat tomorrow.

If I get some time for myself I'll either mount the brushless system in the M-08 or take out the center diff in the XV-02. I really should finish prepping the Skoda Fabia body for it,  but I don't feel for it ATM. It's cut and sanded already a long time ago,  so it's just about making the finishing wash and masking.

Have a great weekend everyone.

New weekend, so what are we up to, folks?

Today is the only day for the coming week with sunshine,  so now I am gonna tear up the rest of the flooring in the livingrooms and fill up the trailer again. Iwas at the dump with a full load yesterday. After that it's late lunchtime, so then we are heading for the camping site.

Tomorrow there is rain,  so more demolishing indoors for me.

I got a package from Plaza and the Lapmonitor with a load of different transponder mounts the other day,  so inbetween I'm fiddling about adapting transponder mounts to the different cars.

Have a great one.

Long weekend here. Thursday was a holiday day and went to a cultural happening with my wife. Friday wat a mandatory day off from the office and went to a dinosaur park with my young daughter and a friend from her school. Saturday to an electronics parts and stuff market by myself to buy 'essential supplies'. :P

Wife and kid are now going to the city centre for shopping, I think I'll join then in a moment as I need some supplies for the pet hamster and then we can all get some ice-cream. Waiting for postman first to intercept a package...

Sunday... Who knows......

It's Friday again!  :D  What have we all got planned?

After a few crazy weeks it's time to settle down and relax.  Well, maybe.

Friday - work, I've had a few hospital visits this week so no early finish.  Dentist this afternoon also.  Tonight I'm racing in 17.5 blinky at the local carpet club, I haven't been there for 5 years and never raced on their indoor track, but I feel like getting my head back into touring again as the endurance season really gets going in July.

Saturday - spend the day with my daughter.  Maybe go to see family, go walking in the woods, or just chill out at home.  We could go to Thruxton to watch the British Touring Car Championship qualifying, but it's a bit last-minute and I forgot all about it with all the crazy stuff going on last month.

Edited to add - daughter has asked if we can buy her a motorcycle helmet on Saturday, as she is now tall enough to reach the pillion pegs on my GSX-1400.  My wife's dad used to take her to primary school on the back of his Kawasaki, and wife and child have both been really excited about that tradition continuing.  Since school is only 1 mile away and we never leave the 30mph zone, this seems like the perfect way of getting her onto the bike.  There's a shop in Swindon that might have child-size helmets in stock, and possibly I could swing by my friend's storage to pick up some more RCs to sell on his behalf (and maybe decide which of the Hilux Monster Racer trucks I will buy for myself).

Sunday - day to myself.  I really should spend the day tidying the workshop and listing out all the parts I need to finish a few projects, but I also need to go for a good walk somewhere as I haven't exercised all week.

Also BTCC is only an hour away so possibly I'll ride there on the motorcycle and watch some great racing.

Whatever you do, make it a good one :)

Here the weather is rather scrappy until Tuesday,  so it's gonna be working inside the house. We will put furniture in the places they belong,  so the little area we have left for living is (more) freed up.

The caravan is in a workshop after a little cable fire. Not something we expected after upgrading to a 2019 model and we hope it's gonna be fixed before we are going on holyday in mid June. So for now it's no major crisis with the weather.

Have a nice weekend .

Today: Work until 3, spray painting, tidying the man cave, barbers appointment for well needed beard trim. I will make something nice to eat for me and the other half if it's not too late in the day. Failing that it will likely be a pizza/Chinese before she toddles off upstairs to watch Peaky Blinders/Mob Land and drool over Tom Hardy, leaving me to my online gaming.

Saturday: If it is dry and sunny, I will be taking a drive out into the countryside to thrash the life out of my Gorgon. I will also take Monster Beetle and M06, maybe MB01 as well.

Sunday: A trip to Scotland to see the old man with my brother.

I hope you all have a good, fun filled weekend.

Spend half a day tidying up the Ray-cave. Got a clear room to make a new mess now.
