It would be cool if there was tab in the cars asp. for placing pictures of the hop-ups available for that car. Many of the vintage cars had hop-ups made by CRP, Parma, RCH and more available for them. this way people could see what was made and what to look out for.

what a top idea, would be gr8 to see what extra "toys" we can add & see what they look like on, a review would be good too (nice to know what others think b4 u spend your £££ or $$$).

appreciate that this will be a lot of work for chris, but well woth the effort.....go on chris, u know it makes sense!![:D]

A hop-up tab may be a tricky proposition on a site dedicated primarily to stock Tamaiya buggies, but it can't be denied that the aftermarket is as big a part of R/C as the production cars themselves.

One suggestion: ensure the hop-ups are car specific (i.e. one cannot, for example, list a such-and-such aftermarket motor as a hop-up for their car, since this motor could be a hop-up for so many others as well.) Only products made distinctly for that car, or type of car.

Anyway, good idea from Shodog. This has my vote.

Instead of a hop-ups tab, I wonder if there is a way to add a hop-ups tab to the cars you add in your showroom.

For example under stand scorcher you could have checkboxes for:

CRP shocks, ball diff, etc etc.

Ohhhhhh Ahhhhhhh Uuuuuuuuu, I'm thinking while I'm typing. Forget about the top part. Split the discription into sub sections. So you would have smaller text areas like:

How you got it.

Condition when you got it.

Hop-ups/restoration you done.

I'm planning on doing this to all the cars in my showroom but sub-sections to type in might make people inclinded to fill them out.

Here's another after thought:

Go back to the checkbox idea and setup checkboxes for Motor, ESC, Hop-ups. Instead of a selection of motor and such each box you check would give you a blank line to fill in the motor, esc, and such. You could even do a checkbox for body and allow the person to select, like New body, Aftermarket Body, Restored body, etc, etc.

Once again I'm just thinking out loud.

I have quite a few pics of hop ups I could contribute. since many hop ups would work on multiple cars, why not set it up like the parts reference?

Good one snollan, I always try to have a before and after pic of my cars but these options are even better. Please look into it for us, Chris... [;)] [:)]

Shodog, you've got something there! It would be great being able to see on what other car you can use a certain hopup/spare.

Example: Many pieces from the TL01 and the FF02 fit nicely on the M03/M03L chassis.[:D]

Hold your horses a bit boys...I don't want to dampen anyones enthusiasm but...

It a good idea and easy to talk about but to set it up is another matter. The parts reference you talked about took ages to set up and that didn't even have a 'member interace' to allow people to add items to it.

I'll see what I can sort out but I'd be surprised if anything moves on it this month...

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...

I thought most manual have a list of Hop-ups for that car on the back page?

Maybe just a hop-up tab in the selection of titles for your showroom items. A bit like the new "action shot" title. Then you could put your hop-up parts in there and people could view them, maybe the heading for your entries could include a list of which cars the part fits.

This would be good for non-standard parts and the Tamiya parts could be found on the back of the manual. ( if the manuals do have the list? I think they do )
