probably come the day after xmas

Absolutely.  Didn't we see someone on the board here who already got one?  How?  Plus you'd think they'd be available from the HK online shops but they aren't. I am 99% sure the ones headed for the US are sitting on a container ship off the coast of CA.

Ugh....Tower just pushed their ship date to Dec.  It's barely November. Not looking good for xmas to be honest.

EDIT: NEVERMIND, the discount is just automatically applied to any order.

Not only that, but the 50th anniversary coupon seems to have disappeared.

I don’t mind the wait, but I was hoping to knock a bit off the price.

I have a feeling we aren't getting these until next year. I'm still waiting for furniture I ordered back in April. I'm going to cancel the order and get something else.

I'm not in a rush. Got a few others to build in the meantime. I am, however, thinking of switching my pre-order to the Astute instead. Or, more likely, as well!

Super bummed about further delay not gonna lie, but it’s the way of the world these days I guess.  Seriously considering cancelling my preorder as I’m dumb and ordered an SCX6 which was really more than I should have spent even though I got it for a good price.  I guess I can wait a little longer to make the decision on the preorder.

Wait for the SCX6 to sell out, then sell it for more than you paid for it. Not so dumb now, is it?

The TD 2/4 isn't going anywhere, Tamiya seems invested in this chassis for the long term. I feel more models based on it are on the way. In the mean time, enjoy your new tractor rock crawler.

I don’t know I could ever sell the SCX6, shipping would be outrageous!!  I drive a Forester and the box barely fit in the hatchback!  It’s really impressive and I haven’t even opened the box yet.  Really looking forward to riding it around like on the Berm Peak Express review lol.

Yep, saw that video. Hilarious, but be cautious with those tires. His were looking a little crumpled at the end, even without his weight on them.

As far as shipping, that's why I specify Local Sale Only when I sell anything. C.O.D. only. Somebody in your neck of the woods will jump on that if scarcity sets in.

I'm considering just ordering the Tekno 4 wheeler in it's stead. Always wanted one. And people complain that the TD4 is ugly! Have they seen the Tekno? Or any cab-forward anything for that matter?

Seen the build photos on the Tamiya Legends video? Glen says he thinks they make the shell look a lot better than the Tamiya photos and I find myself agreeing. It makes me like the box art a lot more.

Just to fill the hole? Maybe used in the TD2 or for a future hop up. Can’t see anything in the manual for the TD4 that uses it.

TamiyaBlog is reporting of a limited edition pre-painted body version with other coloured parts. They only have a photo of the chassis though no body yet. The chassis is yellow and I can see yellow shock springs so far.

Here is a copy of the slipper clutch instructions. Note it says it is not compatible with a Torque Turned motor and it also requires a 48 pitch motor pinion.

A long boss pinion may work with the shorter shaft motors. Schumacher U75XX.

TD4 have arrived in local market here and its cheaper from VQS (TD4 is $316, VQS $344), and still no thunder dragon. Now i have the urge to buy it despite the ugly body XD.

What’s everybody think of the fact that they only use 2 screws to retain the rear tower?  Noticed that the other day while browsing the manual.

My Cougar KC’s front shock tower is held on by just two screws, and I’ve driven it into plenty of walls. Not to worrisome for me.

I noticed that Tamiya USA is listing the TD4 as “sold out,” so I hope Tower has enough to fill every order.
