Is there really a diff nut hop up? If there is, and the TD4 was a financial product, people would go prison!

Anyway, its a cool kit

Your absolutely right! If this was a 1/1 car the Implications on re-calls and negative publicity would be financially eye watering😲 only in the rc world can they get away with it!

For those wondering if motors with tabs on will fit, yes they will! But looks like you need to solder up before the motor goes in.

It’s not power that strips the thread in the way people have shown. It’s over tightening. Will see how mine does and then maybe change that statement! Most of the hops ups look to not really be needed other than universals for the front. Completely disregarded that myself and bought them anyways!

Well you can not directly compare this and get away with it for many obvious reasons that comes to my mind. And second i stil believe hop-up parts for TD4 is Only a must IF you plan to upgrade motor from standard silvercan?.

It comes without a motor; they don't know what you are going to do to this thing. :D  Should they put an unobtanium $300 diffnut in there 'just to make sure'?  Besides, race cars sold through OEMs at the 1:1 scale don't come with a warranty, or get recalled.  Drag racing setups sold by Ford, GM, and Chrysler/Stellantis don't come with a warranty.

Just some hop ups I’m missing and realised I need to cut, tin and solder wires for the brushless set up! Which also means I need to buy some connectors and suitable battery. Oh and the servo I bought divest fit.. mount holes are wrong. Argh! Started and now having to stop whilst I wait for parts

Tower shipped mine out on Friday.  FedEx has it about 10 miles from my house.  First said they would deliver it yesterday, then today, just checked the website and it is now saying Tuesday!  Will see if it shows up then I guess.  Still waiting on Hop-ups so no rush on my end.

Did you receive it yet? FedEx changed mine from today before 8pm, to by 8 pm, to “end of day”, now I presume tomorrow? Same as you, it’s less than ten miles from my house.

Sure did!  Funny thing was, i came home Monday  and there it was.  Apparently they had no desire to make me wait another day.  Still waiting on hop-ups, slipper at least, before i even consider getting started.

As of today, it’s sitting on a fedex truck, but the truck hasn’t left the hub yet. I understand that there’s backups, labor shortages and holiday rushes, but I paid for two day shipping. This is the last thing I’ll order from Tower/Horizon if they continue to use fedex. If Amain stocked the TD4, I’d have paid more and ordered from them. Every other online retailer I’ve used has delivered faster than estimate.

I live about 20 miles west of the Horizon/Tower distribution center. I got my TD4 next day. Also, I ordered a pixel phone and it's been sitting in Chicago for days. All FedEx. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Mine shipped from Illinois. I've ordered from Riptide RC in St Anne, and had my order in exactly two days through USPS, no additional charge. I'm being neurotic, but I don't want $300 getting grabbed off my porch. I'll simply avoid Towrizon from here on out, and any other retailer that uses FedEx. I hope you get your phone.

Although we also have FedEx we have Hermes who is fantastic at making parcels disappear I'm on number 3 in just one month!

I’ve heard of this “Hermes.” It sounds like it makes FedEx look like bespoke concierge service. So I could have it a lot worse. In fact, I was at the FedEx hub trying to get them to at least drop my parcel off at a retail store when the delivery confirmation came through. So I raced home to get it before the porch pirates did. Now, working on electrics layout:

Mine shipped Fedex, arrived in my state yesterday.  Arrived in a town about 5 miles away from me last night been sitting there since with no update.  Delivery date was originally 12/1, now has been deleted and just says pending.  I paid Horizon 5.99 extra for the quick shipping, but looks like it's going to take longer than usual.

You’re already way ahead of me- I’m out twenty bucks. My delivery read the same, and wasn’t updated until the parcel was on my porch.

Horizon just won’t get anymore of my money until they use more reliable carriers. If it’s not available anywhere else, I’ll do without. I’ve had USPS and UPS delays, but they are both more communicative.

I’ve had Hermes parcels showing as delivered even though I had not been out of the house!!! It had been lobbed over my neighbours front gate!!! In the UK if I’m going to send about try and use RM. They seem to have a good hit rate for me anyway. I have had issues with all the major couriers, though don’t remember ever having a parcel via FedEx?

Strangely in all my years getting deliveries I have never once had an issue with Hermes, infact the local drivers for them on my area and great, polite and often have a little yap too. Yodel and DHL (same company) on the other hand 😡🤬 now that's a joke of a company.

I keep reading about porch pirates! I can't say I'm a fan of giving lowlife scumbags a legitimate name because it gives the impression we are excepting their behaviour! And at least yours get to the porch!

Looking at wiring options myself. Need to build more of the front end for me to get it fully figured out. The prop shaft looks like it’ll just kiss the ESC in this location but without the front finished I can’t be sure.

DB01 x TD4

That DB01RRR 😍😍. I loved my DB01R, but God it would get ripped apart racing these days, it's just such an old design.

Pity the person in the vid hasn't a clue how to drive the DB01. Waits a year between the corner apex and actually applying throttle 🙄 🤦‍♂️ dips the brakes over jumps so it nose dives, I could go on and on.
