As far as I've heard, the DB02 handled poorly so no loss there!

What's missing though?

Oops. I meant the DB01. Will edit my post. :)

Tight spaces. Luckily everything fits under the body. The roll bar and head will fit. However, I think I will not be able to install the driver body

Waiting for paint to arrive from the Eastern States to sunny WA. Also another batch of upgrades including the antiroll bars on the way from HK.

Just got this wrapped up.  Took me a while to get the electronics planned out, not a whole lot of room in there.  Turned out good though, body just barely clears.  Went with box art for paint, had a few bits of overspray due to some careless masking but otherwise happy with results.  Box art seems to be very polarizing- I like it though, reminds me of Subi rally livery.

Overall a fun build, if a bit finicky at times.  This was my first build in nearly two decades!

do you  have to install those 2 exhaust pipes or can you skip them? not sure if it holds something else together

The slipper clutch takes 48p 16-30 pinions. i am thinking 8.5-10.5 brushless and 20 or 22 pinion. what pinion size will you all be using with the slipper clutch?

I am using a 30T / 79T slipper spur for a theoretical top speed of 53km/h on a 10.5T Tamiya motor. In my mind, any modern buggy should be able break the 50km/h barrier.

Looking at the motor mount, I am guessing one may be able to go at least 1 or 2 teeth up on the pinion from 30T.

You don’t have to fit them.

Found an old can of PS16. A bit of sputtering. Not the best. Waiting for more PS16 & PS6 to turn up :(. Will use the magic Tamiya body cleaner to tidy up the bits of blue that got underneath the masking.

Sorry man, not sure why my comments are permanently quoting you...

Finally got out for a little shakedown run this weekend, what a blast.  Handles like butter, stock suspension is very smooth.  Ground clearance is pretty low so any offroading will need to be on well prepared surface- the grass at the neighborhood school was pretty long and a lot of divots so made from some rough going.  Otherwise, performed great.

Anyone able to recommend some tires for parking lot bashing?
