Email Notification

i think i've asked this before but can't seem to find it in a search

is there any chance we could have the option to get an email when someone subscribes to a topic as this would make it easier for ppl to know what topics there subscribed to.

The E-mail notification thing might bog down the server. What about a button or a dot with a color that indicates you have made a reply to the post.

Hi

There are a couple of things that put me of 'email notification'

1. Server issues - as shodog mentioned. We have a lot of members and if the system is shooting several emails off to them a day, its going to have an effect.

2. I prefer the idea of people coming to the board and looking, rather than just being told when the one thing they are interested in has changed. Who knows they might spot another interesting topic or thread that they can help out on, that they might otherwise have missed.

The way I work is log on to the forums and then just hit the Active Topics link in the top right corner of the screen. This instantly tells you all the threads that have been updated or added since your last vist. That way you don't miss a thing.

Clicking on Active Topicsid="blue"> directly works just fine, no need for change.

ok guess it's a bad idea it's just all the other forums i visit has the option to receive Emails as well as an active topics link

Its not that is a bad idea, its just not one that suits our set up here. I can't speak for the other forums you visit, just ours.
