I started a thread in the tamiya vintage forum regarding rock crawler trucks. Just wanting to know what is a good start to build such a beast. Kyosho was mentioned, but mostly tamiya models were mentiond in asking for comments. Well, that post has been deleted or moved, and I just cant find it. So, whats UP?! If its moved, then where is it? If deleted, then why Why?

I don't see why that would be deleted. Instead of the vintage forum you should post that in the general forum or the other forum. Your best bet on this info is Rcmt.net .

That being said when it comes to rockcrawling take a look in for the jugg2 witht the semi-truck tranny in it. It's in the showroom somewhere.

it may just have been moved??

I have a CR-V, and love using it.

Locked the rear diff up on mine, and it can really go now!

lots of sideways fun in the snow too !!

Woops! MYBAD. I remember what happened. I was trying to post during high traffic. An error message kept popping up saying that the websight was not responding. So, I quit trying to post in fear of posting several times the same thing. I ***-u-me-d that the message made it up at least once, and got offline without checking. Sorry folks. It took 7 hours sleep, a big breakfast, 2 cups of cappi, and a short little rc building session for me to remember this. I should have known that such a post would be welcomed here. I will try to repost,, but what forum to put it in? I would like to discuss Kyosho and Tamiya both.

Yeah, had great fun with my Pajero MTW on a frozen lake yesterday [8D], till it stuck on some branches in it [B)], luckily it was relatively close to the side, so a 2m long branch pushed it out, phew... [:)]

Theo,

you should take a weighted line with you if you go on the ice again. I sail RC Boats and when I go i take a spool of braided fishing line with a sea float and a weight about 45cm apart. If i lose a boat, I simply throw the line over the boat and when I pull back the weight hooks underneath. You could do the same thing but rev the car to tangle the line in the wheels. Then haul it back. Panic over [:D]

Thanks for the tip! [8D] Luckily my local Tamiya friends live very close to that place, so if the branch wouldnt have worked, I would call them to pull/push it out with their XCs, 3 speeds or tanks! [8D] Imagine the ice breaking then due to the weight of the cars and 3 cars falling into the sea [:0][B)] Better not think about it...

Yeah, Theo, maybe I would... [;)] That is, if it wasn't just a frame and some bits at the moment... [xx(] D'OH!

Anyway, do you know why all those people were looking at me on the Autobahn when I first tried it out??? [:o] [:D] LOL
