I apologise in advance if someone has already answered this question! But is this a limited edition (I know the phrase "limited edition" is somewhat dubious when we mention it with tamiya but if so how many units is there likely to be?

This release or total combined with the rere’s?

Tamiya or BlockHead Motors should include an official serial number card with water mark or something like Matt Hicks does with the Wendy's for the first 100 kits or whatever.  Then it would not be too difficult for the factory to place in the box during packaging and it would be exclusive.

"Limited Edition" should mean something..   a problem(?) Casio also has with their more expensive 'limited edition' G-Shocks.

The kit # is 58695.  All 58xxx kits are regular, non-limited items.  If the kit number started with 49xxx, then it would be limited.

I just ordered mine. It'll be cool to lite it up. Gonna add taillights too. I'm all about lights and driver figures anymore.

I like the idea of wild ones in different colours, my main concern is the plated parts.

How durable will they be? What colour is the cage under the plating? I'm assuming you will still need to remove excess plastic from the cage before assembly exposing the plastic underneath.   Its not a problem on the red or black cages from the wild one and the FAV as they are moulded in colour. A few scrapes during running could ruin a nice looking model.  Would have preferred a white moulded cage!

Really looking forward to this and good to hear it will be a general release rather than limited run. Will probably try and pick-up a second kit so I can upgrade some of my existing kits and for spares.

Probably old news already , but a YT video shows a Hobbywing 1060 esc included in the Blockhead Wild One kit this one guy received, rather than a Tamiya esc.

I chased my pre-order yesterday. I was told that despite ordering a couple of days after the announcement and paying in full they won't have anywhere near enough to fulfil my order. Not quite sure why they sat on my money for 4 months then and didn't bother contacting me. One more store crossed off my list.

Earlier I looked at ordering from Japan but then saw RCMart had them in stock. Reasonable price too at $220 US. Shipping costs on the other hand 😱

Places are not supposed to charge you until they ship the product. Yeah I'd cross that store off the list.  Tower hasn't pushed their WO Blockhead pre-orders to December yet which I suppose is good news considering they already pushed the Super Avante to December.

There is just the light buckets that looks weird in yellow... If only they were chrome or metal plated...

Yes, agreed. They make it look very plasticky. In fact I think the actual release version doesn’t look as good as their original custom job overall but that’s probably to be expected.

Once it became clear my pre-order wasn’t happening I actually wavered on whether to order one or not. I’m not really a fan of making kits to box art as I prefer my own paint and decal choices. But overall it’s a great look and a good kit and I will probably still go a little off-script ;)

Where did you order from? I pre-ordered my Blockhead version from Horizon Hobby the DAY of the announcement....

And they're giving me NOTHING information wise!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬  I really don't want to order from Asia, when I THOUGHT I'd have the two,  2 days from the shipping date. Are they even coming to the U.S.???

I'm based in Australia and ordered from Metro Hobbies here in Melbourne. I called them to check the latest and only after a bit of pestering did they give me any clarity that I would almost certainly not get one of the first batch and maybe even a second batch might be tight! I was pretty annoyed with their lack of managing the situation so cancelled my pre-order entirely.

A day or two later I saw that RCMart had them available in stock and available for purchase so I grabbed it while it was available. They were gone within minutes I think. Even with the currently inflated shipping fees it was still about the same cost as buying locally.

I just hope that all these cars end up in the hands of enthusiasts rather than on eBay.

As much as I agree, we know that several will end up PARTED OUT on Evilbay.... :o

I just hope I GET one, or both. This is the first time I've been able to spend large amounts in over 10 years.

Horizon/Tower has never been good at their estimated delivery date for backordered/pre-ordered items. They always keep pushing the date back. I have 3 kits on backorder. Not having high hopes that I'll get any of them before the year ends. I have a lot of patience and their price is usually the best (after discounts/points/coupons).

I pre-ordered mine from Frontline Hobbies (Australia).

I spoke to them around the time I placed the order (pre-paid too I might add!). The guy I spoke to hinted that they went overboard with their order - whether that order gets completely fulfilled in the first shipment is another matter I guess. He said the model number indicates that it's not a limited run. So if my order isn't filled in the first batch, it will eventually show up.....

No updates on their site yet - still says "ETA November 2021"

This is the first time I've Pre-Ordered anything... I just ONCE,  wanted to be first with a Video on a new product, before the YouTube "Cool Kids". 🙄😵

Really I just wanted the Wild One. I had one in 87, but had to sell it 9 years ago. Couldn't get the Re-Re....

A couple of People ALREADY have a Blockhead Wild One!!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬  ONE did a S@!##% Review Video, like he had no idea what a Tamiya WAS.  Oddly,  his came Pre-Painted, with a Hobbywing 1060 ESC IN THE BOX from Tamiya! Don't like Pre-Painted Bodies, but if mine comes that way,  I won't mind. I'll just do that one Box Art, and get another clear WW Body... 😉
