Slightly None Box Art Fighting Buggy.

Recommended Posts

As I've probably bored you to death before with the Fighting Buggy being my 'the one' from childhood for me, it certainly feels great to add to the collection though finally and at long last.

I have nothing against the box art and was very close up until the last minute on doing just that, all be it with a very dark blue or black. I'm 99.9% sure the first time I saw one of these as the Super Champ in the 80's it was black and that is what stuck in my mind ever since. But once the primer had dried for the colour to be applied I thought I'd go for something else instead to make a bit more special to me than it already was. This was also a good excuse to get my fix from another new found addiction of playing around with Tamiya's curvy masking tape.

There are no Decal's on this yet although I do have something in mind but I'm going to leave it as is for now and see what materialise's.

So while fending off swarms of Mozzies in the garden I took a few pic's....

Great looking buggy. Your masking skills are way beyond what I could do. It's perfect symmetrical.

Will it be a runner?

It will be going out for an occasional jolly somewhere now and again, luckily I have a few other spare wheels to run on so I don’t mess up the nice shiny ones…

Thanks all for the kind words, very much appreciated.

I think for my next job maybe something pre-painted in white for a change 🤔

WOW my friend, hats off! 👏👏👍🤙

I've been waiting for this one... and it's gorgeous. SO much beauty in your car and in your picture, I had to download at least a few of them (I have a buggy-porn folder on my phone for when I'm bored or waiting for something lol). Congratulations my friend, I'm always a huge fan of your creations and absolutely love this one down to the smallest detail.

Thanks again everyone 😁

Hopefully I’ll be able to get a few action shots soon when time permits @Ferruz, more than likely with the wheels still on the ground though unlike a Hornet cousin 🤣

Amazing paint job done, all parts melt together very well. Silver parts with that magnetique black, red/silver stripes, rims and tires everything is perfect.

Bravo.

Great looking build! I'm still deciding whether to stick to box art or do something different, may take some inspiration from your deviation.

Probably been asked before but what front bumper are you running there? Not stock, and really improves the look of the front-end in my humble opinion. Great pics - thanks for posting.

Enjoy your build looking forward to seeing what you do with it 👍🏻
