Bought this chassis at the onset of my second spring with RC. While waiting for my first child, I decided to get back into RC thinking that this will be something to share with my kid when he is along. Bought the TLT-1 and things started to escalate. Now, my boy is in second year of Uni and shows no interest in any of my hobbies including RC.

So, the old thing has been sitting in the store for more than 10 years. It's still some sort of lock down where I am. So, I decided to clean it up & make it run again.

So this is a Gmade Dragoon chassis with JPS gearboxes & likley some HOT racing arm tubes & knuckles.

Took me the better part of 2 afternoons to clean her up. Replace some of the gears with NOS items that I had on hand and put everything back together

Spent another afternoon to set it up for running.

Spec. :

Chassis - Gmade Dragoon

Gearbox - JPS

Arm tubes & Knuckles - likely HOT Racing

Ball Diffs - Likely Thundertech

Motors - SkyRC 13.5T with 15T pinion

Escs - Team Powers 120A

Battery - 3S 1 piece to supply both escs

Shocks - Gmade Zero 103mm with 7.5wt shock oil

SERVO - JX HV 17kg

So, still waiting for the #4-40 short bolts to arrive for the gearbox covers. Also some M5 socket head bolts for the wheels.

I got my first one in 2005. The Dragoon was GMade's race-oriented chassis - I had a Spider, which was marketed as a crawler.

Their first versions were chassis kits which needed Clod axles, 4" shocks etc but, in 2006, they went on to make their own axles and relaunched the Spider and Dragoon as complete rolling chassis (no bodies or electrics)
The rollers weren't compatible with any Clod bits (except maybe the wheels)

My Spider chassis + Clod bits

So is the motor and gear box attached directly to the back axle but with multi link suspension a bit like the kyosho outlaw rampage?

Yes, except front and rear axles both have motors attached and both axles can steer if required - on the Dragoon/Spider the bumper doubles as a servo mount
