I'm counting 41 re-release's from the first 100. Is that right?

Good question. Depends on if folks consider things like the Holiday Buggy, Sand Rover and Willys Wheeler (Honda City Turbo), etc. re-res or not since they are on totally different chassis now.

Looks like these are the "most wanted".

And they’re quite likely to all drop within a 6 month period of each other which would kill me

The 959 may come but never on the original chassis.  I just can't see it.  The King Cab will have a body made of a different material, but that's ok.  There was a rumor this past winter about a Falcon re-re but nothing has happened.  They do seem to be announcing things at a pretty good pace, so maybe one or more of these will show up.  I do know that I am 100% canceling my Super Avante pre-order if the King Cab shows up.

Chalk me up for the “I don’t get the fuss about the 959” team, a sub section of the “what is the Avante so popular” club.

Each to their own eh?

I would like to see an updated Madcap, not just a straight re-re, same body but on a better chassis.

And it’s The Hi-Lux Monster Racer for me not the King Cab, better paint job innit.

I’m that way with the Falcon.

The thing with the Porsche and the King Cab, is they were both blow moulded bodies, not vacuum formed. Which would mean either A, Tamiya would have to blow mold the rerelease bodies, (something they probably haven't done since the early 90s) or B, design and manufacture another body buck, and produce new, less detailed bodies.

They would need to be the original bodies on the original chassis, to maximise the cash-in on the nostalgia. Otherwise if they don't, they will be effectively be making Avante DF02s.

From tamiya the Porsche 959/Toyota celica (and not a Porsche 959/Toyota celica body on a TT-0my God not this chassis again!)

But my number one re-re after the avante has to be an Optima mid (any I'm not fussed)

959/Celica won’t fit on the TT OMG chassis.

Would probably be MF01X.

I'd like the "current" stuff to be more readily available (Top-Force, Top-Force Evo, Thunder Dragon, etc) but if we're talking new re-re's...

1. Hilux / King Cab
2. 959 / Celica
3. Sonic Fighter / Striker
4. Dyna Storm / Dyna Blaster
5. Bear Hawk / MadCap

Since each pair has so much commonality, re-re'ing one of them would make it VERY easy to do the other one down the road, say 1 year later.

I'd buy one of each.

The Boomerang and Dyna Storm have already been done. 😉
